Housing Lease Expiration Schedule
If you live in our leased housing (Centennial Estates, Dakota Ridge), you are probably aware of the pending expiration of the leases. If not, you can find the scheduled expiration date for your home by following this link: http://www.ellsworth.af.mil/shared/media/document/AFD-081210-032.doc If you are still living in one of these homes as the lease approaches expiration, you will have up to three possible options: 1. 2. 3. Relocate to an off-base residence. Move into remaining base housing (if available). Current owners might continue to let occupants remain in the homes on a rental basis, just as if you were renting off base.
No other details have been decided at this point. If you have any questions, please contact our office at 385-2568.
Winter Parking Rules for On Base Housing
Please adhere to the following guidance from EAFB SUP AFI 31-204: A3.11.10.3 (Added) Snow Routes and Snow Removal Operations. All vehicles will be removed from the roadway in military family housing areas upon declaration of a snow advisory or winter weather warning, or when directed by competent authority. Vehicles not removed from the roadway will be towed at the owner’s expense. The USAF and 28 BW do not assume any risk, responsibility, or liability for any damage to vehicles occurring from snow removal or towing operations when vehicle owners are in violation of this provision.
‘Tis the Season!
If you will be putting up a Christmas tree in your home, or hanging exterior lights for the holidays, please read these tips provided by the fire department using the link below: http://www.ellsworth.af.mil/shared/media/document/AFD-071130-027.doc Also, please conserve energy and turn off all lights before going to bed. Celebrate the season, but remember we are stewards of tax payer dollars. Lastly, Kiefer Sanitation will pick up your tree IF you place it out on your curb the first normal trash day after 1 Jan for your area. If you miss this pick up, you may transport the tree yourself to the transfer station/dump on Centennial drive.
Recycling for On-Base Residents
The recycle contract was renewed enabling curbside pick-up of glass, aluminum, steel food cans, and plastic. The scheduled pick-up days for recycle are the same as before. If you are unsure of the day for your area or need refreshing on the policy in general, please read chapter 1.6 of the housing brochure (available thru the link below). CENTENNIAL RESIDENTS ONLY: Effective 7 Jan 09, the designated day for recycle pick-up will change from Friday to Wednesday. Friday, 2 Jan 09, will be the last Friday for recycle pick-up.
