The Second Vatican Council ordered that the Church’s treasury of sacred music be preserved and fostered with great care. It also commanded that the Latin language be used in worship and Gregorian chant be given pride of place in liturgical celebrations. The orchestral literature is sung by the Twin Cities Catholic Chorale under the direction of Dr. Robert L. Peterson, Music Director. The polyphonic a cappella music is sung by the Saint Agnes Chamber Choir, directed by Donna May, and the Gregorian chant is sung by the Saint Agnes Schola Cantorum, under Paul W. LeVoir. Mary E. LeVoir is the organist. Instrumentalists are professional musicians from the Twin Cities area. The soloists are Patricia Kent, soprano; Jocelyn Kalajian, contralto; Adam Gedde, tenor; and Jon Nordstrom, bass. Members of the Chorale are volunteers. The Chorale is supported through the generosity of the FRIENDS OF THE CHORALE.
