We are planning a trip to California, where we hope to be invited to participate in Disney’s Magic Music Days. This is a combination of a performance (most likely a parade down Main Street U.S.A.) and an educational workshop. We will also try to schedule a second performance at another venue in the Southern California area. - Sightseeing in Hollywood and L.A. - A trip to a beach or Catalina Island - San Diego - Sea World - Disneyland & Disney’s California Adventure - Universal Studios All Band and Color Guard students may participate in this trip. Fundraising will start immediately to pay for the cost of the trip. The Bottom Line: High School Band is a great experience. We travel, we perform a lot and we learn a great deal of skills that you can’t learn anywhere else. FACTS: 1) Band Students score higher on the SAT and ACT than other students. 2) Band students are the highest percentage of students admitted into medical school 3) Band students have the lowest High School drop-out rate, and the highest High School graduation rate. 4) 5 out of the last 6 Presidents of the U.S.A. were band students. Do you know who wasn’t? Where do you fit in to this picture?
