ELIGIBILITY RULES FOR SKATERS SKATE BEIJING 2008 1. 2. 3. 4. All competition events are open to any amateur skaters or professional coaches of ISIAsia or ISI whose membership is valid through March 23, 2008. All competitors must compete at their highest test level passed and all tests must be registered with ISIAsia in Hong Kong or ISI in USA by February 21, 2008. All competitors must represent a current ISIAsia or ISI Administrative Member rink. Skaters in Pre-Alpha-Delta may not compete in Figure 1, Freestyle 1, Couple 1, or Pair 1. If the skater has passed any one of those tests, then they can no longer compete in Pre-Alpha to Delta level events. Skaters can now participate in Ice Dance events (after passing the required Ice Dance tests) without having to pass the Delta test. Skating coaches and members of other skating organizations are eligible and welcome to compete in the “Skate Beijing 2008” competition as long as they are current Individual or Associate Member of ISIAsia or ISI, represent an current ISI administrative member rink and have their ISI tests passed and registered with ISIAsia or ISI by latest February 21, 2008. Skaters are expected to compete at their true ability level and to uphold high ethical standards. Each event will be divided by age groups according to entries received with no more than 9 entries in a group. Females and Males are separated in most events, but they may be combined in Artistic, Couples Spotlight, Footwork, Interpretive, Jump & Spin Teams, Spotlight Solo, Stroking, Surprise, and all Team Events at the discretion of the Competition Director. This “Skate Beijing 2008” competition will use the last day of competition, March 23, 2008, as the age cut-off date for all individuals event grouping and July 1, 2007 for all team events. There will be a short warm-up period before each event. 2-minute warm-up will be held for Solo Compulsories, Jump & Spin Teams, and all other Team Events. There is NO WARM-UP for Speedracing, Stroking, or Surprise events. NO BACKWARD ARABESQUES / SPIRALS are permitted during any warm-up for the safety of all skaters. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. Specific performance criteria for every competition event can be found in the current editions of the ISI Competiton Performance Rules. All rules will be applied in accordance to the 2008 Edition of the ISI Skaters and Coaches Handbook, ISI Competiton Performance Rules and the ISI Judges Manual. Please refer to the information from the ISI website (www.skateisi.com) before preparing your competition programs to avoid unnecessary penalties or deductions. All of these publications can be purchased from ISI or may be available for sale at your home rink. 11. Medals will be awarded for 1 – 6 Place. All skaters not placing 1 – 5 will receive a 6 Place medal. Overall Team Champion Trophies will be presented to each participating rink team. 12. All events will be team point events. For all individual and partner events, 1 Place skaters will earn 5 nd rd th points for their rink team. For 2 Place, 4 points will be awarded. For 3 Place – 3 points, 4 Place th th – 2 points, and 5 Place – 1 point. All 6 Place skaters will also receive 1 team point for participation. For each individual event entry skated will receive 1 point for participation in addition to the appropriate number of team points for their event placement. 13. For Kaleidoskate, Pattern, Production, Synchronized Teams, and Team Compulsory events: 1 nd rd th Place winners will receive 25 team points; 2 Place – 20 points; 3 Place – 15 point; 4 Place – 10 th th points; 5 Place – 5 points. All completed Entry Forms and payments (T/T wire transfers only) must be received by Le Cool Ice Rink in Beijing, China by latest February 21, 2008 to avoid the double fee charges. COMPETITION ENTRY & TESTING DEADLINES WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. Late entries will only be accepted after approval of the Competition Director, and after the double fee payments are received. NO ENTRY FEE OR CHANGE FEE REFUND WILL BE GIVEN UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. 15. Fill-out the entry forms carefully and completely including all required signatures. Any change from the original entry forms will be charged a change fee of USD$15 PER SKATER / PER CHANGE. These change fees must be received by the Le Cool Ice Rink before any changes are made in the Event Schedule. 16. Please be sure to write your partner’s name, age, & sex on your form if you are participating in Couples, Pairs, Dance, Free Dance, Couple Spotlight, and/or Jump & Spin events. Each skater must submit a separate entry form.
