PIECING
Bouquet blocks:
1. Center and sew a 3½” rose strip onto each diagonal corner of an octagonal mini bouquet piece.
Press seams toward rose strip and trim ends even with remaining sides of octagon.
2. Center and sew a 5” rose strip onto top, bottom and both sides of each bouquet piece. Press seams
toward rose strip and trim ends even with remaining sides of octagon.
3. Center and sew a moss ladybug triangle onto each corner, pressing seam toward rose strip.

Spinning Star blocks:
1. Sew a cream triangle onto each rose triangle as shown, pressing seam toward rose triangle.
2. Sew a rose dragonfly triangle unit onto 1 side of a mini bouquet octagon, sewing only 1” of the seam.
Finger-press seam toward rose unit.
3. Add a rose petal triangle unit to the adjacent side of the octagon, pressing seam toward rose unit.

4. Add a rose ladybug triangle unit to the next side of the octagon, pressing seam toward rose unit.
5. Add a rose stem triangle unit to the next side of the octagon, pressing seam toward rose unit.
6. Continue, adding a rose dragonfly unit, then a rose petal unit, a rose ladybug unit and a rose
stem unit.
7. After the last unit is added, sew the remaining part of the initial rose dragonfly seam.
8. Sew a moss butterfly triangle onto each corner of the block, pressing seam toward moss triangle.

Assembly:
1. Using the photo as a guide, lay out the bouquet blocks alternately with the spinning star blocks in 10
rows of 8. Sew into rows, then sew the rows together; press seams toward bouquet blocks.
2. Center and sew a rose ladybug strip on each moss ladybug strip.
3. Center and sew a 66” moss ladybug strip on each 82” rose stem strip. Center and sew to top and
bottom edges of quilt, sewing from seam line to seam line and backstitching at each end. Repeat with
the longer border strips, adding them to each side of the quilt.
4. Miter corners using your preferred method, pressing seams toward outer edges.

Finishing:
Layer the prepared backing, batting and quilt top. Baste and quilt as desired. (I stitched in the ditch in
the star blocks and inner borders, and outlined the bouquets. I quilted an allover motif in the outer
border.) Trim the edges even with the quilt top. Sew the prepared binding to the edges, turn and stitch
in place. Enjoy your new quilt!
