November 26, 2007 To: From: Re: AAA Travel, Auto Travel and Public Relations Executives Douglas Bower Promotional Opportunity - Bonneville AAA is partnering with SenArt Films Releasing, Inc. to promote the 2008 release of the movie Bonneville. The film is scheduled for initial release in 25 major markets February 29th, followed by a general release in late March. Starring Jessica Lange, Joan Allen and Kathy Bates, the movie has a strong tie-in to drive trips. It’s a contemporary story of fun, adventure and coming-of-age for the second time in one’s life, as three friends embark on a pilgrimage from Pocatello, Idaho through Utah and Nevada to Santa Barbara, stopping along the way at some of the most scenic attractions in the Southwest. The film provides a strong platform to promote AAA Travel, AAA Publishing and related programs, and to receive significant consumer exposure with no direct cost to AAA. The attached Fact Sheet explains AAA’s involvement in more detail; however, the overall expectation is for participating AAA Clubs to: Provide an avenue for promoting Bonneville via club websites, email blasts, club publication editorial, in-office displays, etc., January 15 through March 31. (All promotional materials will be produced by SenArt Films Releasing and will be sent to clubs in mid-December.) Provide a link from the club websites to the Bonneville website where members can view trailers from the movie, download the AAA/Bonneville Triptik and register to enter the Bonneville sweepstakes. (SenArt Film Releasing will provide digital graphics for AAA to upload by December 15.) The National Office will: Create a TripTik that follows the route taken in the movie. The TripTik will be prominently featured on the Bonneville website. The website will go live on December 15 at www.bonnevillethemovie.com. Provide some of the travel prizes that will be tied to a sweepstakes on the Bonneville website. The sweepstakes sponsor is SenArt Films Releasing, Inc. In return, AAA will receive at no cost: Up to 200 tickets for advance screenings in each of the 25 markets where the film will be released. (Members register to win the tickets via AAA websites.) Prominent placement on the Bonneville website as the “Official Bonneville Road Trip Travel Planner.” Promotional materials created and supplied to clubs by SenArt Films Releasing. Member discounts on subsequent DVD release of the film. Significant consumer exposure. The turn around time for this exciting project is short, but the opportunity to increase awareness of AAA Travel at no cost to AAA is certainly worthwhile. Please consider taking advantage of this project and participating fully. More information will be presented as part of the Quarterly Club Conference Call scheduled for December 12 at 2:00 p.m. ET. For questions, contact Sandra Furlong, manager Travel Communications at (407) 444-8453 or via email at sfurlong@national.aaa.com.
