The ins and outs of ISSA/INTERCLEAN Amsterdam 2008

Bigger than ever
The 22nd edition of ISSA/INTERCLEAN Amsterdam 2008 has 4,000 square meters more
floor space than the last one adding up to almost 30,000 sqm.
The truly international character is reflected in the over 600 exhibitors originating from
40 countries.
Since 1967 when the first Interclean was being held, the show has developed into a
landmark trade show. ISSA/INTERCLEAN Amsterdam 2008 will be an unforgettable
gathering of trade professionals featuring various special events.

Almost sold-out
With three months to go and much more space than last time, the show is almost
completely sold out. As the leading showcase in the cleaning industry,
ISSA/INTERCLEAN is the launch pad for many, many innovations, a place to spot
emerging trends and – above all – see the world’s leading products and services. It is
also renowned for networking opportunities.

Different Lay-out
For those familiar with the set up at ISSA/INTERCLEAN Amsterdam, the extra 4,000
sqm. has meant some changes to the lay-out of the exhibition. Hall 7 will no longer be
used as the show occupies three new halls at the front of the RAI complex, directly
adjoining the main square. The whole event now spans across halls 1-6, 9, 10 and 11.
The expansion has also led to an additional restaurant overlooking the exhibition floor
which will give extra facilities to cater for the growing visitor traffic.

The only truly global show in the industry
In 2006 a total of 25,294 cleaning industry professionals attended the exhibition from
121 countries worldwide. Of that figure, 60% came from abroad and 535 exhibitors were
attending from 35 countries. Put simply, ISSA/INTERCLEAN Amsterdam is the biggest
and only truly global trade fair in the industry and the most international trade show for
the cleaning industry anywhere in the world.

Customary, ISSA will be running a series of educational seminars tackling the major
issues affecting the cleaning industry today. The topics include the science of cleaning
with particular attention paid to the development and deployment of nanotechnology;
sustainability and the REACH legislation; green cleaning and analysis of what are the
respective green imperatives for manufacturers, distributors and end users respectively;
plus a seminar on doing business in the developing markets of Eastern Europe and
China. Attendance fee is € 50,=.

Indoor demonstration area
Floor cleaning machines cannot only be tested on the stand, but really come to life on
the indoor demonstration area, furnished with different types of floorcovering truly testing
the cleaning effectiveness. Different machines from different manufacturers can be put
to the test here.

In a theatre on the show floor exhibitors will present the latest innovations, products or
services, using the latest audio and visual equipment. Entrance is free of charge.

                                                               P.O. Box 77777 Tel. +31 (0)20 549 1212
                                                               NL-1070 MS Amsterdam Fax +31 (0)20 644 5059
                                                               NL-1078 GZ Amsterdam
Outside Exhibition Area: Street Sweeper Square and Platform Plaza
For certain companies the exhibition of their products requires extra space. Therefore,
after the successful premier last edition, in 2008 there will be a demonstration area
outside the exhibition entrance. This will allow visitors to view the very latest in specialist
window cleaning equipment including platforms and extending poles. It will also be a
great opportunity to see demonstrations of one of the show’s new features – street
sweeping and outdoor cleaning machines.

Innovation Awards 2008
ISSA/INTERCLEAN has become the global industry’s showcase for the development of
new cleaning technologies, systems and solutions so the show’s prestigious innovation
awards are always hotly contested. These products will be judged by an international
jury of experts. All the nominated innovations will be displayed in a special pavilion
dedicated to innovation throughout the show. On May 6, the first day of the show the
winner will be announced. The nominees will be announced in the beginning of March.
