The Reporter…October 2008 THE PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE-NICK KLINE We start a new year again on October 1st. As of September 29th, we have approximately 200 paid members, of the 300 from last year. This is typical of prior years and I am sure we will get back to the 300 again. We have 5 new members already signed up and I am sure more will come. Joe Viera is the new membership chairman and will be looking for your sign-ups. Remember, “If you don’t pay, you can’t play.” Andy Nelson is in charge of Team Play again and he will be posting a sign-up sheet in the coming month. The October tournament is a 4 Man Scramble. See Fred’s article. Jim Tassell is working on a budget for a member/guest tournament for next year with tee prizes and food. Give him your comments and let’s make this a special event. TOURNAMENT CHAIRMAN- FRED JOHNSON October Tournament Sat. 18/Sun.19 Get Acquainted 4 Man Scramble Team Handicap will be 25% of the 30 minimum The Octobers Men’s Club Tournament will be The Get Acquainted Tournamnet. The format is Team four man scramble. There will be 2 Flights A & B on Saturday. One flight on Sunday. Everybody plays from the White Monuments. This will be a Team event with Script being awarded for low Gross and Net in each Flight. We hope to have new members that we can place with our returning members. The cost will be $65.00 ea. Optional Skins and Pins are $5.00 ea. The whole team must be in the skins. Total cost to be in everything is $80.00 ea. A Player: 4 Drives B Player: 4 Drives C Player: 4 Drives D Player: 4 Drives 2 Drives optional any player

Renewal fees are $145.00 and new members are only $150.00. So you see, now is a great time to be a Mile Square Men’s Club member! Just a side note, we are the largest public club in Orange County.
