COUNCIL BILL NO. 2008-270 - AN ORDINANCE providing for the vacation of a twenty
(20) foot wide utility easement located east of the intersection of Northridge Road and
Cambridge Road in the City of Joplin, Jasper County, Missouri. (Requested by William H.
Perry III. Planning and Zoning recommended approval).
COUNCIL BILL NO. 2008-271 - AN ORDINANCE providing for the vacation of a portion
of 45th Street located between Hearnes Boulevard and Virginia Avenue in the City of Joplin,
Newton County, Missouri. Requested by Byron and Linda Sisk. Planning and Zoning
Anyone wishing to address the Council should step to the Podium and state their name and address. If the matter
is not a Public Hearing, a request to speak to the Council should be prepared prior to the meeting. Speaking time
will be limited to five minutes.

RESOLUTION NO. 2008-013 - A RESOLUTION authorizing an Application to the
Missouri Department of Transportation for state funds to be used for operating assistance
for the Metro Area PublicTransit System.
9. Ordinances – Emergency
COUNCIL BILL NO. 2008-031 - AN ORDINANCE extending the Franchise for water
service granted pursuant to Ordinance No. 88-015 as approved by the voters on April 5,
1988 to and until November 17, 2008; and containing an emergency clause.
COUNCIL BILL NO. 2008-147 - AN ORDINANCE authorizing the City of Joplin to enter
into a Lighting Maintenance Agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation
Commission for the roundabout on Route 166 in Newton County; and containing an
COUNCIL BILL NO. 2008-148 - AN ORDINANCE approving the City to enter into an
agreement with Mettemeyer Engineering, LLC for the 36th & Ferguson Storm Water
Improvements Project in the amount of Fifty Eight Thousand Four Hundred Fifty and No/100
Dollars($58,450.00), and authorizing the City Manager to execute said Agreement; and
containing an emergency clause.
COUNCIL BILL NO. 2008-149 - AN ORDINANCE approving the City to enter into an
agreement with Anderson Engineering, Inc. in the combined amount not to exceed Twenty
Eight Thousand Two Hundred Sixty Four and No/100 Dollars ($28,264.00) for the McCoy &
1st Street Culvert Replacement and the 33rd Street west of Connecticut Paved Ditch
Stormwater Improvements, and authorizing the City Manager to execute said Agreement;
and containing an emergency clause.
COUNCIL BILL NO. 2008-150 - AN ORDINANCE approving the City to enter into an
agreement with Olsson Associates for the Maiden Lane north of 7th Street and the 6th &
Porter Avenue Storm Water Improvements in the amount of Sixty Eight Thousand Two
Hundred Eighty Four and No/100 Dollars ($68,284.00), and authorizing the City Manager to
execute said Agreement; and containing an emergency clause.
COUNCIL BILL NO. 2008-151 - AN ORDINANCE approving the purchase agreement with
G & S Mechanical, USA in the amount of Three Hundred Four Thousand Five Hundred Fifty
Dollars and no/100 ($304,550.00) for the baggage belts for the new airport-terminal building
in the City of Joplin, Missouri; providing how the cost shall be made and levied, and
containing an emergency clause.

COUNCIL BILL NO. 2008-450 - AN ORDINANCE approving a Contract by and between
the City of Joplin, Missouri, and Joplin Roofing, Inc., for the amount of One Hundred Two
Thousand Six Hundred Eighty-Three Dollars and no Cents ($102,683.00), for the installation
of roofing; authorizing the Director of Finance to amend the Health Department’s approved
budget for the 2007-2008 Fiscal Year, and, authorizing the City Manager to execute the same
by and on behalf of the City of Joplin, Missouri; and containing an emergency clause.
10. Ordinances – First Reading
COUNCIL BILL NO. 2008-029 - AN ORDINANCE re-adopting Chapter 2, Administration,
of the Joplin City Code, Section 2-107, "Financial interest disclosure", requiring certain
officials and employees of the City of Joplin to file Financial Interest Disclosure Statements
as described herein.

Development Plan Review - A request to review the site plan for a new office building
located on the north side of 34th Street approximately 500 feet west from the intersection of
Texas Avenue and 34th Street – Independent Living Center. (Planning & Zoning Commission
2315 South Connecticut Avenue - A request to declare excess city property – City of
Joplin. (Planning & Zoning Commission recommended approval)
Set the date for the public hearing on the 2008 property tax levy for August 21, 2008.
Set the date for the public hearing on the FY 2008-09 proposed budget for August 21, 2008
Election of the Zone Four Council Member.
Vote to go into closed session, which shall pertain to legal action, causes of action, or
