The Triple Crown of Racing - 2008 Learn to spot the “unusual” in any chart. For example, notice that natal Mars and Neptune are within a 2-degree orb of each other, but more importantly in the same zodiac sign. When this happens you get both planets whenever one of them is energized. This is one reason that makes a “super race horse”. Big Brown is a “super race horse”. Below, I have listed first the ONLY three planets in his chart that have “positive” angles from both the natal Sun and Mercury. These planets are the strongest in this horse’s chart and will have to be strong for him to leave his mark. Mars and Neptune, of course are the ultimate because when you get one you get the other.

On September 3, 2007, Big Brown won at Saratoga by some 11 lengths. Notice that the horse has the energy of two Jupiter’s (natal Jupiter although not a “positive” natal planet, it becomes “positive” when associated with Mars because they are within a 2-degree “positive” angle of each other). I’ve removed almost everything in the charts below (there is a lot more happening) this is so you can “focus” on what is the strongest. We have the energy from the transiting Sun to both Jupiter’s. Transiting Neptune receives energy from the natal Sun, which flows to the Neptune, the natal corresponding planet. Of course, natal Neptune pulls in natal Mars (they are linked together because they are within the 2-degree orb of each other and in the same zodiac sign). Notice too that transiting Mars (lower row) is in trine or 120 degrees to natal Neptune during his first outing! Without trying to go into too much detail his natal “receptor” is Venus and presently in Leo is “positive” to both transiting Mars and natal Neptune. And transiting Uranus is also “positive” to both natal Mars and Neptune, and transiting Mars. There is much to consider, but the examples below are only going to contain the three “positive” planets in this horse’s chart --Mars, Neptune and Uranus. Jupiter is important because when it is within a 2-degree natal orb of natal Mars, it joins this complex.

Jupiter “positive” Mars-Neptune gives aggressiveness and “high levels of energy” with a strong responsiveness and awareness to life’s situations.
On March 5, 2008, he wins by 12 lengths. Again you see the same scenario with the energy of the Sun to both Jupiter’s, transiting Neptune still within a 2-degree orb of natal Sun, which flows to the natal Neptune and thus Mars is activated (transiting Mars is within a 2-degree orb of natal Mercury boosting the energy).

On March 29, 2008, Big Brown wins the Florida Derby by 5 lengths. Here Jupiter only has the strength of one Sun (natal). However, Mars is receiving energy from the transiting Sun, which flows to the natal Mars and thus picks up Neptune too. Transiting Neptune is probably out of range, but it does not matter, since Mars has energy, so does Neptune. From the transiting position Mars is also trine natal Uranus (the only other natal planet that is “positive”). You will notice that transiting Uranus has been well positioned throughout all of these races in “positive” angle to the natal Neptune.

The second leg of the Triple Crown “the Preakness takes place on May 17, 2008. We see that transiting Jupiter has some energy from the natal Sun (one Sun). The only planet positioned to help is transiting Mercury within a trine to natal Neptune. This means that the natal testimony will have some strength and pull in Mars again, but it is NO WAY NEAR as strong as the many past races that this horse has won. He probably might show, it depends on the competition.

Belmont Stakes, June 9, 2008 (coming event), the third leg of the Triple Crown, we see that the original strong complex returns and if Big Brown runs, he will win. Jupiter has the energy from two Sun’s. Mars has energy from the transiting Sun and natal Neptune has the energy from the transiting Sun and the two most significant natal planets are joined again but with a higher degree of energy. Notice too that Uranus and Neptune are now aligned transiting to transiting.
