We do hope that it is held annually from this year onward. A wide spectrum of cutting edge topics in clinical endocrinology and diabetes will be covered. We have chosen to include both issues of interest to those caring for patients in pediatric and adult age groups. We feel that this may be particularly important in our region where many of tradition adult physicians may find themselves involved in care of younger patients and vice versa. In addition, having some basic knowledge of the current practices on both sides of the fence (cut off age)is very essential for both pediatricians and adults physicians. We hope that Excellence in Diabetes and Endocrinology should enhance better chances for developing common understanding of how best execute a smooth and seamless transition of care from pediatric to adult services. We are pleased that we have secured participation of high caliber international, regional and national speakers for our first Excellence in Diabetes and Endocrinology episode. They will discuss cutting edge topics in the subject based on available evidence in the literature and their own personal clinical experience. Adequate time will be allowed for discussion either immediately after the speaking time or as a panel discussion as deemed appropriate depending on the nature of the mix of subjects within a session. A total of annually recurring 15 CME hours have been credited to Excellence in Diabetes and Endocrinology. The contributions were arranged as state of the art, special or occasional lectures, sponsored symposia and main sessions of presentations grouped on basis of the specialty, age groups or a concept. We would like to acknowledge the unrestricted educational sponsorship provided by the sponsors of this first Excellence in Diabetes and Endocrinology supporting the logistic of holding the meeting and Christel Have of Diaedu. We hope that we all have interesting educational experience during Excellence in Diabetes and Endocrinology 2010.
