Directions for Running Non-Windows XP Software Programs on Windows XP Computers o If the software won’t install:             Double Click “My Computer” Right Click on D: (where “D” is the CD Drive) Choose “Open” Right click on the install program (it should be called “setup.exe” or “install.exe”) Choose “Properties” Click the “Compatibility” tab Put a check mark in the box next to “Run this program in compatibility mode for.” Then select “Windows 98/Windows ME” from the drop down box. Click “Apply” Click “OK” Double Click the install program that you just modified and setup will start. Setup as usual Software is installed but won’t run:  Right Click on the program shortcut(s) that the install created. o There should be one on the desktop and one in the start menu  Choose “Properties”  Click the “Compatibility” tab  Put a check mark in the box next to “Run this program in compatibility mode for.”  Then select “Windows 98/Windows ME” from the drop down box.  Click “OK”  Start the program using one of the shortcuts that you modified
