       SUMMARY OF PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

Served with Cornell Cooperative Extension as New York State Youth Development
Specialist following a twelve-year career with private and public non-profit youth
development agencies doing case work, youth outreach work, and home visiting with a
focus on high risk youth. Directed Community based non-profit organizations focusing
on delinquency prevention and juvenile justice diversion including support work with law
enforcement and family court systems.

Published leader’s guides and a variety of educational curricula. Conducted consultations
and training statewide for human service agencies, teachers, youth workers and extension
educators. Initiated successful inter-agency statewide facilitator training partnership that
established inter-agency training teams in essentially all New York State counties and
New York City.

Current responsibilities include managing 6 state and federal grants and contracts totaling
$600,000 aimed at system-wide capacity building for youth development. The position
focuses on staff development through training, curricula development, dissemination,
direct service projects for adolescents, and statewide youth development policy.

Ongoing collaboration with various New York State Agencies including the Office of
Children and Family Services, New York State Association of Youth Bureau’s, and the
New York State Department of Health. Liaison for the United States Department of
Agriculture (USDA) to 8 states conducting USDA funded projects under the Children,
Youth, and Family At-Risk (CYFAR) National Initiative. Co-coordinate annual national
conference. Support all aspects of national initiative.

(2006-Present) Semi-retirement, half-time status: Maintain Principle Investigator (PI)
role on all grants and contracts. Continuing responsibilities with USDA as Liaison to 8
states funded through the national Children, Youth, and Family At Risk (CYFAR)
Initiative including coordinating committee for the national conference and Research
Committee Chair.

(1997 – 2006) Senior Extension Associate for youth development programs. Current
responsibilities include Principal Investigator of 6 state and federal grants and contracts
totaling $550,000 aimed at system-wide capacity building for youth development. The
position focuses on staff development through training, curricula development,
dissemination, direct service projects for adolescents, and statewide youth development
policy.

COOPERATIVE EXTENSION ADMINISTRATION

(1992 – 1997) Program Leader, Children and Youth At Risk. Provide statewide
administrative and programmatic leadership to the Cooperative Extension system at
Cornell University focusing on grants and program management, resource development,
and the dissemination of educational materials throughout the Cooperative Extension
System statewide and nationally. Principle Investigator for federally funded five-year
project aimed at system-wide capacity building, staff development and curriculum
dissemination that addresses issues with at-risk populations. Principal Investigator of
three additional federally funded projects, annual budgets total over $300,000.
