                           Sample Needs and Opportunities

Affiliate Needs and Opportunities
Blue Mountain Partners 1. Volunteers: Build, Committees, Board
                               2. Sponsor for our very first appreciation night.
                               3. Donation of a small cargo truck (flat bed or pick-up)
                               4. Grants – list of resources, points of contact

Colville Valley Partners 1. Volunteers in construction and at the thrift store.
                               2. Lots
                               3. Volunteers for all committees and the Board.
                               4. Grant for full-time office manager.

East King County 1. More “Regular Volunteers.” These are folks who volunteer in the office or on the construction
site and come back every week, for a day each week or even two or three days each
week. We have some but in order to increase our capacity to the level we aspire to, we
                                         need more.
                               2. A van, or two, for transporting our AmeriCorps members. We will have ten AmeriCorps
members this year living all around the Seattle area. We promised them transportation to
work. We had two vans donated by King County several years ago. One died last
year. The other isn’t far behind.
                               3. Full house sponsors. Another need to increase our capacity. Cake sales are great friend
raisers but to build 15 to 20 houses each year, we need sponsors and in big
chunks. Whole house sponsors will help us do more without increasing our overhead.
                               4. The Florida tax credit for local Washington businesses would be nice. Or something to increase
the incentives for businesses to direct their “tax dollars” to Habitat for Humanity.

                                                                                                                               1
