Throughout this Guide, you will find an alphabetical listing of 58 leadership-building programs offered by university systems and nonprofit organizations, 19 of which are based in Minnesota. The Neighborhood Leadership Programs (NLP) teaches leadership skills with the intent of strengthening community. The BLF is one of the oldest leadership programs in the country. Since 1965, it has been improving the skills of motivated people who want to take on greater leadership roles in their communities and workplaces. The Mandel Center offers a pre-eminent graduate program in nonprofit management distinguished by its faculty and strong ties with nonprofit professionals. The Young School is known for its education of nonprofit leaders in the region, preparing those who aspire to be future leaders in the sector, and enhancing the skills of those already working in positions of leadership. Volunteer Resources Leadership is a three-year capacity building initiative to expand and strengthen volunteer leadership across the state through strategies that create widespread systemic change.
