R. William Soller, Ph.D. Senior Vice President and Director of Science & Technology Consumer HealthCare Products Association Dr. Soller’s scientific and technical background includes academic and member company experience in pharmacology, epidemiology, risk assessment, product development, and regulatory affairs. His responsibilities at the Consumer HealthCare Products Association (CHPA) include senior management, strategic planning, and oversight of standing committees and member task groups concerned with a wide array of dietary supplement and over-the-counter (OTC) drug safety, efficacy, manufacturing, packaging, and labeling issues. Dr. Soller has extensive experience working with the Food and Drug Administration and other government agencies and serves as CHPA’s official Delegate to the U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention. Dr. Soller is a regular speaker at industry-wide and academic meetings on scientific and technical issues affecting dietary supplements and OTC medicines. Prior to joining the CHPA, Dr. Soller was the Technical Director, Proprietary Drug Development, at Lederle Laboratories (1985) and the Vice President, Director of Scientific Affairs, at Sterling Drug, Inc. (1981 to 1985). From 1974 to 1979, he conducted research and taught pharmacology on the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Soller is a member of the American Society of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Sigma Xi, the Drug Information Association, the New York Academy of Sciences, the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society, the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, the Society for Neuroscience, and the American Society of Association Executives. He received a B.S. degree from Colby College and a Ph.D. degree from the Cornell University, Graduate School of Medical Services.
