MALAVIYA NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, JAIPUR FINISHING SHOOL PROGRAM - 2009
Finishing School Program is being organized for engineering graduates of the year 2009 or earlier (who are not yet employed) from AICTE recognized Institutes/Colleges for a training on Information Technology/Soft Skills for a period of eight weeks during the summer of 2009. mnit, Jaipur will be one of the four nodal centres for coordinating this program.
About the Program:
With a view to meet the immediate need of trained human resource requirements of the IT and ITES industries, MHRD has taken up an initiative to set up a chain of finishing school program for engineering graduates. As per the directives of MHRD, Government of India, finishing school program is planned to be organized in 18 Institutions for a period of 8 weeks during May June, 2009 for the students of AICTE recognized institutes. Exact date of the program will be announced shortly. MNIT, Jaipur is one of the Nodal coordinating Institutes for organizing this program. All the participating Institutes has taken up the responsibility of training about one thousand engineering graduates through this effort. This effort has twin objectives of (i) offering suitable candidates to IT industry and (ii) helping young graduates to find jobs by inculcating IT and soft skills components through appropriate training. The program offers rich inputs to enhance and sharpen the required skills among the engineering graduates and make them employable in the IT and ITES industry. Further this program do not guarantee employment and candidates will not be treated as students of the training Institute. The program at MNIT, Jaipur as nodal centre and its associated participating institutions will be delivered by the faculty of MNIT, Jaipur with additional support from practicing executives from the IT and ITES industry. Eligibility: Only unemployed Engineering graduates of recognized institutes/colleges who have completed their B.Tech./B.E. program in 2009 or earlier and who have achieved 60% as an aggregate in the Engineering program are eligible to attend the program. The candidates have to declare that they have not obtained a full time job while applying for this special program. Selection: Selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of academic performance in the engineering degree. Reservations, as per Government of India norms, shall apply. Program Fee: The program fee will be Rs, 10,000/-(Rs. 5000/-for SC/ST candidates) along with actual boarding and lodging charges to be paid by the candidate during the conduct of the program.
NAC-Tech Diagnostic and Final Test
NAC-Tech test will be conducted during the program with the following objectives : (a) To check the skill level of students at the commencement of the program and the training efficacy at the end of the program, it will be mandatory for all students undergoing the Finishing School program to take the NAC-Tech Diagnostic and Final test. (b) The fee for both the NAC-Tech Diagnostic and Final test, has been included in the program fee per student.
Organising Institutes:
The first batch of Finishing Schools were conducted on pilot basis in the summer vacation of 2007 at IIT Roorkee and some of the NITs . The Second batch was also conducted successfully in 2008 at IIT Roorkee and in 6 other Institutes. The Finishing School programme will be organized in following 18 Institutes in year 2009 : IIT Roorkee, NIT Allahabad, NIT Silchar, NIT Surathkal, MANIT Bhopal, NIT Kurukshetra, NIT Agartala, SVNIT Surat, NIT Durgapur, NIT Calicut, NIT Warangal, MNIT Jaipur, NIT Hamirpur, NIT Trichy, NIT Jalandhar, IIITD&M Jabalpur, NERIST Itanagar and ISM Dhanbad.

The student will have a choice of more than one Institute in the region for the program. They will be allocated to the Institutes of their region by nodal Institutes.
