Each of the main presentation Leaders’ Guides indicates which branches are linked or embedded in the specific presentation. The Branch Leader’s Guides are not embedded even when the slides are embedded in the PowerPoint. Both Booklets Required: This program should not be presented unless both the Asbestos Management booklet and Asbestos Workers’ Resource booklet are on hand to be referred to. The Asbestos Management booklet does not contain many of the specific legislated work and safety requirements while the Asbestos Workers’ Resource booklet does not cover many of the legislated requirements or the decision making information required to establish and manage the program. When doing the presentation: The Asbestos Management booklet is required as a reference for Administrators/ Managers. The Leaders guide refers to points in the booklet indicated by “M-nn (nn indicates the page number). The intent is not to directly cover the materials in the booklet but to give the participants an indication of where the material can be found.
The Asbestos Workers’ Resource booklet is required for all groups of workers participating in a workshop. The Leaders guide refers to points in the booklet indicated by “W-nn” (nn indicates the page number). In most cases the intent is not to directly cover the materials in the booklet but to give the participants an indication of where the material can be found. The exception is the areas outlining the specific requirements/precautions used for workers directly exposed to asbestos. Supervisors of Workers exposed to asbestos should have both booklets. The Appendix “Avoiding Exposure” has no references in either booklet and is intended to to increase the participant’s awareness of the hazard and things they should consider in their workplace.
