Tips for Success The initial assessment: Answer the questions honestly; if you do not know an answer, skip it. The assessment will help determine the areas you need assistance, and guessing will make it more difficult for the system to determine the topic areas that you already know versus the ones that need to be reviewed. Reading the material: Read the lessons and submissions carefully. You will find that all of the answers to the Submission questions are in the reading materials. Take notes: Keep a notebook for each component that you take. As you read the material, identify the key points and write them down. Recording your work allows you to better study for exams. In addition, writing as you learn helps to visualize the process. Use your resources: The program provides you with links to other websites that contain valuable information that will help you through the courses. You will find these links at the end of each page; you will find links to dictionaries, encyclopedias, thesauruses and the High School Hub. Save your work: As you work through each section, periodically click “Save My Work.” This will ensure that your work is retained.
