Otsego County will sponsor a free clean-up program this fall. Phase One of the program is limited to
certain waste materials generated by householders and is further described below.

Under Phase One, householders can bring waste items to the MOSA (Montgomery-Otsego-Schoharie
Authority) solid waste transfer station located one mile north of Cooperstown on NYS Route 28/80 on the
following dates: Monday, October 20th; Thursday, October 23rd, Monday, October 27th; and, Thursday,
October 30th. The station will be open for deliveries on all four dates from 10am – 6pm.

Waste accepted under Phase One is limited to items that originate from households. The following
materials are accepted: furniture, rugs, carpeting, mattresses and box springs, toys, textiles; construction
& demolition debris including wood, sheet rock, shingles, siding, plumbing and electrical fixtures; rubble
and yard waste. The following materials are NOT accepted under this program: household food waste
and other regular bagged garbage; liquid wastes; hazardous wastes; televisions and other home
electronics; and, appliances. For more information about how to dispose of these materials, please call

The delivery of waste materials, as per MOSA’s regular operating rules of the station, is limited to cars
and pick-up trucks. No vehicle tow-behind trailers or roll-off containers are allowed.

This program waives the tipping fee normally charged by MOSA for the disposal of waste materials. The
householder assumes all other charges related to the delivery of waste to the transfer station.

Details of Phase Two of the program, which will take place later this fall, will be announced in the near
future.
