Searching ANZ Newsstand from home
ProQuest ANZ Newsstand contains full text articles from Australian and New Zealand
NOTE: To access this database you will need a State Library Readers Card. Go to
http://www.sl.nsw.gov.au/system/forms/selfreg.html to apply for a Readers Card.
1. Getting into ANZ Newsstand
Go to www.sl.nsw.gov.au, homepage of the State Library of NSW and click on e-resources.
Click on Access from home. This will list the Library’s databases you can access remotely.
Scroll down to ProQuest Australia and New Zealand Newsstand.
Log in using your Readers Card number, as well as the password you’ve created.

2. Searching for newspapers articles
Type in your keywords using the connectors AND or OR, or just use a phrase.

Some searching tips
• You can limit your search by date choosing a specific date or a date range.
• You can select More Search Options on the Basic search screen. This will allow you to:
choose a particular source eg Sydney Morning Herald
sort your results by relevance
limit your search by using the option Look for terms. Choose Citation and
Abstract from the drop-down menu as this will look for articles that deal primarily
with your subject, rather then just mentioning it once in the text of an article.
3. To print or email
Click on the print or email buttons. If you are emailing choose ProQuest Standard
