NEW PRESCRIPTION DRUG PLAN GOES INTO EFFECT ON 7/1/05
PEBTF members will begin receiving their Medco Welcome Packets this weekend
through 6/24/05. Medco is releasing ID cards nightly.
Members should watch for their Welcome Packet which is being mailed in a
6 X 9 envelope, and it will include the statement:
IMPORTANT – YOUR PRESCRIPTION DRUG BENEFIT MATERIALS ARE INSIDE
The Welcome Packet contains the following:
• Prescription Drug ID Card
• Welcome Letter
• Drug Plan Summary Brochure
• Preferred Drug List
• Medco by Mail Order Form & Mail Order Envelope
• Health, Allergy & Medication Questionnaire
• Form to Transfer Your Refill Prescription
There is no change to the Prescription Drug Plan and no change in copayments.
Members may continue to fill up to 30-day supplies at a retail pharmacy and use
mail order or Rite Aid for their 90-day supplies.
New ID Number
The Medco ID card now lists a unique PEBTF ID number instead of the member’s
Social Security Number. The member should present the ID card at the
pharmacy because the pharmacy will need the new number to process the
Refills Remaining at Mail Order
Members may continue to fill their mail order prescriptions at CFI until 9 p.m. on
June 30, 2005. After that date, Medco Mail Order will fill members’ 90-day
prescriptions. Express Scripts is transferring all of the remaining mail order refills to
Medco so there should be no need for a member to obtain a new prescription
from their doctor.
Walgreens, Wal-Mart Pharmacies
Walgreens, Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club and HyperMart Pharmacies do not participate
in the network. Information on this was included in the Welcome letter and
brochure and a targeted mailing is being sent to members who previously used
one of these pharmacies.
Members may contact Medco toll-free at 800-899-2674 or log on to the web site
at www.medco.com for a list of participating pharmacies. Most chains and
independent pharmacies participate in the Medco network.
