									Lithography Apprenticeship
Leicester Print Workshop is looking for a Lithography apprenticeship. The
postholder will shadow the LPW Lithographer and Artist, Serena Smith and will
develop their stone lithography skills whilst supporting the LPW technician team.

This is a 6 month unpaid post that comes with a budget for materials and expenses.

The apprentice will have full access to the Lithography facilities during all our open
access hours. They will support the technician team and undertake many of the
lithography related tasks. The apprentice will shadow and deputise for our in house
lithographer, Serena Smith and will be a source of information and support to fellow
studio users.

To span 26 weeks (with an option to extend) the apprentice should attend the
workshop at least weekly. They will deliver a minimum of two in house
demonstrations to LPW members, support Serena during the Lithography courses
held in the LPW studio, produce a limited edition print for use in LPW fundraising
and PR and will explore opportunities to share stone lithography with other
printmakers or artists or crafts people working in other media. The apprentice will
be asked to undertake basic technician duties one morning a week.

The applicant
LPW is looking for someone with enthusiasm for stone lithography and a
commitment to develop their skills. The applicant should attend the workshop for
one to two days every week and will be required to shadow Serena Smith when she
is in the workshop and during her weekend courses. Prior stone lithography
experience whilst certainly not a necessity, is welcome.
