  SANGKURIANG
  A Legend Story from
Parahyangan, West Java,
       Indonesia
The Story of Sangkuriang
Long ago, there was a woman who lost her
needle. Her name was Dayang Sumbi. She
announced to all people who found the needle will
get the prize. If it is a man, he will be her husband
and if it is a woman, she will be her sister.
One day, there was a dog named Tumang that
found the needle. Then, it gave it back to Dayang
Sumbi and as a reward, she married the dog.
Some years later, Dayang Sumbi had a child. His
name was Sangkuriang. He was a handsome boy.
His hobby was hunting. When he was hunting in
the forest, he found the dog and killed it.
Poor Sangkuriang, he didn’t know that the dog was his
father. Dayang Sumbi knew the truth. When Sangkuriang
got home, she was very angry at him. She hit and expelled
him from the house.
A couple of years later, Sangkuriang met a beautiful woman.
He didn’t know that the woman was his own mother. She
became young and pretty ever after because of the Gods.
He felt in love with the woman. He wanted to marry him.
Dayang Sumbi knew that the man was his son from his
birthmark. She refused the proposal. She asked him to make
a big boat and a lake only in one night before sunrise.
Sangkuriang agreed to do it by helping of genie.
Dayang Sumbi was afraid that it would be. So, she asked the
Gods to show the sun earlier. When the boat was almost
done, the hen cocked earlier and the sun rose earlier.
Sangkuriang was surprised and he was upset then he kicked
the boat until it became upturning boat like a mountain and
it’s called Tangkuban Perahu.
The Moral Value from the Story

We must obey our parents, especially
  mother.
We mustn't be arrogant to other
people or other creatures and we feel
that we can live alone without others’
  help.
We should recognize first to whom
  we will get married.

The first version
The mansi who breed the reindeer in this
place tell this story: “Once upon a time
  seven giants-komi climbed the Ural
Mountains. They wanted to go to Siberia
and kill the mansi tribe. But when they
reached the top of the mountain their
shaman (a wizard) suddenly saw the
  sacred mansi mount “Yalping-nyor”. He
was so scared that he threw away his drum
and it fell on the high top of the mountain.
The shaman and all his men turned to
  stone.”
The giant and his men
A tale
Once upon a time there lived a powerful
king who had a daughter Aim and a son
Pygrychum. Kind spirits who lived on the
 sacred mountain “Yalping- nyor” helped
them. His daughter was very beautiful. A
giant asked the king to give him his
daughter. Aim only laughed at him. The
giant became angry and he wanted to take
her away. When he came to their crystal
palace Aim climbed a high tower and
asked powerful spirits to help her. When
the giant saw her he became very angry
and began to hit the palace with his club.

The story takes place near the
Black Sea. The woman whose name
was Anisya lived there. She was
waiting for her son called Timosha. He
left his mother when he was young. He
was chasing a very beautiful butterfly,
but it fluttered on a very big rock. The
boy was following the butterfly. It flew
            away, but Timosha stopped…
He looked at the sky and saw the
stars. The child wanted to take a star
instead of the butterfly but he fell into
a precipice.
Не gave way to despair… Timosha
started to break the rock. It lasted for
many, many years. Finally, he
managed to brake the rock and found
the way home to his mother who had
been waiting for him for more than a
hundred years.
Timosha could only hear his mother
but he couldn’t see her because he
                    had become blind.
Anisya embraced her son and died.
Mother gave up all her love and life to
    him and Timosha became young
                               again.
He started a new life…………………..

               Teacher :
Krylatskoe is situated in
the west of Moscow, on
the right coast of the
river Moscow. It is very
beautiful and rather
expensive Moscow
district. Its population is
more than 80.000
people. It has got a very
picturesque landscape,
so it is suitable as for
living as for going for
sports.
The history of Krylatskoe.

   The village
   Krylatskoe was first
   mentioned in 1417.
   Only 24 people
   lived there. Tsar
   Ivan the Terrible
   liked this place very
   much and rested
   there on his way
   back to Moscow
   from Mozhaysk to
   Volokolamsk. In
   1554 he took part in
   the ceremony of
   opening the Church
   of our Lady’s Birth.
Nowadays Krylatskoe
is a big residential
district. There is a
cinema, shop centres,
business centre,
underground, a lot of
schools, libraries and
playgrounds. As a
natural wonder it is
protected by Moscow
Government.
