							Position Overview: Public Relations Account Supervisor
Ervin & Smith Advertising and Public Relations is seeking an experienced public
relations specialist. Must be familiar with all elements of public relations,
including strategic planning, corporate communications strategy, traditional
media relations outreach & pitching, new media and social media relations,
media training, product promotions and launches, research, and crisis
communications. Special event planning, advertising or other marketing- related
experience is a plus. Agency experience preferred, but not required.
The PR account supervisor is responsible for developing and managing the
execution of an overall PR strategy for a variety of clients. The PR account
supervisor will work closely with key clients and internal teams to develop a
strategic framework for communications, ensure flawless execution, and deliver
results that meet overall strategic goals.
Additional responsibilities include:

          Serve as primary liaison between clients and internal teams
          Build positive working relationships with colleagues, clients and the
          media
          Conduct and oversee research as it relates to public relations
          Develop press releases and all PR-related materials
          Organize press conferences, events and promotions
          Prepare media distribution lists
          Proactively create story pitches
          Generate & analyze media coverage
          Develop new business proposals
          Manage possible crisis situations
          Coordinate and guide development of annual PR campaign strategies
          Track the progress of client strategic initiatives and redirect initiatives
          as needed
          Manage senior public relations account executives, account executives
          and interns
          Ensure direct reports are held accountable for all job requirements
          Stay abreast of client and advertising/PR industry changes and trends
Minimum skills and qualifications:

The qualified candidate will demonstrate experience in the following areas:

      Requires five (5) to seven (7) years experience in public relations
      Requires an undergraduate degree in public relations or equivalent degree
      with work experience
      Project management experience
      Extremely detail oriented and organized
      Ability to work in a team environment
      Ability to work independently on client work
      Excellent verbal and written communication skills
      Excellent problem solving skills
      Self-starter who is able to work within an entrepreneurial environment
      General marketing and advertising experience
      New media and social media communication skills (social networking,
      blogging and micro-blogging skills)
