President's Message

 Art Alfaro
 2010 President
As the summer months come to an end, GTOT is busy preparing for our upcoming annual
Winter Seminar, December 5-8, 2010 at the Westin Riverwalk Hotel in downtown San Antonio.
The Board, the Center for Public Management, and the Education Committee are pleased to
present quality treasury speakers to cover a broad range of topics to assist with mitigating
today’s economic challenges. Whether you are a treasury veteran or a newcomer, there will be
many educational sessions to give you best practices and resources to utilize in your treasury
functions. In addition, the Public Funds Investment Act continuing education training
requirement can be obtained by attending the seminar.

Professional development is the core function of GTOT. Between the winter seminar,
newsletters, specialized training opportunities, investment policy certificate of distinction and
participation in the legislative process, GTOT is an organization that proudly serves its
membership. Once a member, our organization provides a network of professionals who have the
opportunity to share best practices, efficiencies, guidance, and knowledge to aid in our daily
treasury functions. GTOT includes members from a wide variety of governmental entities. The
winter seminar is a great opportunity to network with others to discuss common issues.

Finally, I would like to thank our sponsors for making the services that GTOT offers to its
members possible. Our sponsors are the key to allowing our organization to provide this quality
Winter Seminar. We could not provide the information and training our members need without
their continued support.

We’re looking forward to seeing all the members make it to our GTOT Winter Seminar. See you
in San Antonio!
