Interreligious Eco-Justice Network engages people of diverse faith traditions in education, dialogic advocacy and celebration of the sacredness of creation. The network encourages faithful living that supports a sustainable relationship between humankind and the environment. Save Energy in Your Congregation This Old House of Worship is our efficiency and conservation class for congregations. This practical hands-on class is designed for building managers, lay leaders, young adults and social concerns committees. Our graduating congregations have saved 10% to 20% on their energy bills with the simple measures taught in this class. Pass It On is our follow-up class, offered for your adult education programs. Our instructor will walk you through common energy saving opportunities for your homes. Contact our office to bring This Old House of Worship or Pass It On to your community. Education
Preaching and Teaching IREJN offers presentations by religious and environmental experts who present information on the theology and practice of caring for creation. Celebration IREJN has celebratory resources for all denominations and settings. Contact us for resources to integrate music, liturgy and sermons that support faith-based environmental awareness. Resource Library IREJN is home to dozens of books, DVD’s and curriculum appropriate for adults and children in religious education settings. Dialogue and Advocacy The Interreligious Eco-Justice Network supports the 20% by 2010 Campaign to increase the use of clean energy. Our network of leaders has worked with the state legislature, the utility companies and municipal leadership to make clean energy available to CT citizens.
