we focus on Dutch used in a work setting focusing on conversation with
colleagues, meetings, work telephone calls, e-mails...
This course is offered as an intensive 45 hour semester course (15 weeks
- 1 evening per week - at Campus Drie Eiken).

The course level 5 higher education perspective is aimed at Dutch language
learners who want to continue their education at a University College or
University. Academic Dutch is acquired via the manual Wijze Woorden. At
the end of the course you will take the Dutch language test of the University
of Antwerp.
This course is offered as an intensive trimester course (10 weeks - 3
evenings per week - at City Campus).
Level 5 higher education perspective can also be taken as a 60 hours course
in July and September. because of the intensity of the course, you can only
take part after obtaining an A or B at the level 4 examination.

 COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

level 1 (Common	European	Framework	of	Reference:	A2)
This course provides you with a basic package of Dutch that will enable
you	to	manage	in	simple,	everyday	situations.	You	will	learn	to	introduce
yourself and others, to order drinks in a café, to give directions, to ask
for information over the telephone. Through speaking, listening, reading
and writing exercises, you acquire the elementary vocabulary and basic
structures of Dutch.

level 2 (Common	European	Framework	of	Reference:	B1.1)
The course builds on the vocabulary and structures acquired in the
beginners	course.	You	perform	slightly	more	complex	speaking,	listening,
reading and writing assignments, but still mostly adapted to your abilities.
You	also	read	short	texts	and	newspaper	articles,	and	watch	Dutch-spoken
video clips.

LINGUAPOLIS - DUTCH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE 9
level 3 (Common	European	Framework	of	Reference:	B1.2)
You	continue	to	develop	your	language	skills	by	communicating	on	various
socio-cultural topics. The starting point of classes is always authentic
material:	newspaper	articles,	radio	and	television	clips.	You	perfect	your
grammatical knowledge and expand your vocabulary through authentic
speaking and writing assignments.

level 4 (Common	European	Framework	of	Reference:	B2)

This	level	deals	extensively	with	Dutch	usage	in	formal	situations.	You	are
required to make summaries, to write formal letters, and to take part in
debates	on	topical	issues.	You	learn	the	subtleties	of	Dutch	grammar	and
vocabulary, primarily through regular assignments.

level 5 (Common	European	Framework	of	Reference:	C1)

In this hands-on language course, you learn to apply in conversation
everything that you have acquired in the previous levels. We select reading
topics as well as speaking and writing assignments that are geared to your
field	of	study,	work	and	role	in	society.	The	training	focuses	on	clear	and
transparent communication, and on the formal accuracy of your language
output.	The	final	exam	is	the	Dutch	Language	Test	of	the	University	of
