Pflugerville ISD Graduation Requirements for Graduates of 2008, 2009, and 2010 All plans require 24 credits for graduation. Subject Area Distinguished Achievement Plan Recommended Plan Four Credits: • English I, II, III, IV • English I and II for speakers of Other Languages may be substituted for English I and II – only for immigrant students with limited English proficiency Minimum Plan English Same as recommended Same as recommended Mathematics Same as recommended Three Credits: must include Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II Three Credits: must include Algebra I and Geometry. Additional options: Algebra II or Math Models Science Same as recommended Three Credits: must include Biology, and two from: • Integrated Physics and Chemistry • Chemistry • Physics or Principles of Technology Three and One-half Credits: World Geography, World History, U.S. History, Government (1/2) One-half Credit Two Credits: Must consist of level I and Level II in the same language. One and one-half Credits: must include Foundations of Personal Fitness (1/2 credit). Limit of two credits in PE can count toward graduation. All students entering ninth grade in the 2004-05 school year and thereafter are expected to complete requirements for the Recommended or Advanced High School Program. Students may only follow the minimum plan if the student, the student’s parent/guardian, and a school counselor or school administrator agree. This agreement will be formalized by the parent signing a document that gives permission for the student to graduate under the minimum plan. If select Math Models with Applications, course must be taken prior to or concurrently with Algebra II. Four Credits: One credit must be a biology credit. Students must choose the remaining two credits from the following areas.
