ARTICLE SPONSORSHIP FORM The American Psychological Association (APA) has developed policies to allow authors who publish in APA journals to comply with the manuscript archiving requirements for Wellcome Trust. Authors publishing in APA journals can comply with Wellcome Trust’s policies by paying a subsidy fee to APA to help offset the costs of peer review, editing, and production costs. The fee has been set at $4,000 per article for all APA journals. Upon final publication, APA will send PubMed Central (PMC) the final document that will also appear in PsycARTICLES, APA’s online full-text article database. APA will authorize its public posting on PMC, and PMC mirror sites, immediately. PMC and PMC mirror sites will also link directly to the article in PsycARTICLES. APA will also make the article freely available to the public on the APA Journals website. Documents posted to PMC are protected by copyright and are posted to PMC by permission of APA. At the time of deposit, posted documents included all changes made during peer review, copyediting, and publishing. PMC and PMC mirror site host sites are responsible for all links within the document and for incorporating any publisher-supplied amendments or retractions as subsequently issued. For a document that has been sponsored, the published journal article, guaranteed to be such by APA, is available for free to non-subscribers. Please visit the APA Journals website at www.apa.org/journals for more information. For non-commercial purposes users may access, download, copy, display and redistribute documents as well as adapt, translate, text and data mine content contained in documents, subject to the following conditions: • The author’s moral right to the integrity of their work is not compromised. • Where the content in the document is identified as belonging to a third party, it is the obligation of the user to ensure that any reuse complies with copyright policies of the owner. • If the documents are copied or downloaded for non-commercial research and education purposes the appropriate bibliographic citation (authors, journal, article title, volume, issue, and page numbers), DOI, and the link to the definitive published version in APA’s full-text online database, PsycARTICLES, should be maintained. Users should not delete copyright notices or disclaimers. • Use of documents for commercial purposes is strictly prohibited. • Any translation, for which a prior translation agreement between APA and the translating party has not been established, must prominently display the statement: “This is an unofficial translation of an article that has appeared in a publication of the American Psychological Association (APA). APA has not endorsed this publication.” For permission to use documents beyond the conditions stated in this document or for additional information, visit: www.apa.org/about/copyright.html. Documents of articles that appeared in APA journals and that are hosted on PMC or PMC mirror sites were developed during the publication process of the definitive published journal article that appears in PsycARTICLES and APA electronic publishing platforms. Documents posted to PubMed Central are without warranty from APA of any kind, either expressed or implied, including, but not limited to, warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. In no event shall APA be liable for any loss or damage arising out of, or in connection, with the use or performance of this information. These supplemental terms and conditions do not effect or change APA’s author posting policy. Authors of articles published in APA journals may post a copy of the final manuscript, as a word processing, PDF, or other type file, on their Web site or their employer's server after it is accepted for publication. The following conditions would prevail: • The posted article must carry an APA copyright notice and include a link to the APA journal home page. • Further, the posted article must include the following statement: "This article may not exactly replicate the final version published in the APA journal. It is not the copy of record." • APA does not permit archiving with any other non-APA repositories. • APA does not provide electronic copies of the APA published version for this purpose, and authors are not permitted to scan in the APA published version.
