Snowflake Observations! This is the perfect opportunity to witness amazing details found in nature. Simply take a black piece of paper outside on a day when it is snowing. Let the snowflakes drift onto the black paper, and observe the awesome patterns of each snowflake. Do you have a magnifying glass or hand lens? Getting a closer look will make this activity even better! This is also a great opportunity to start a conversation on our diversity and how each of us is unique and special. If you have the chance, visit the library to check-out a book on snowflakes. A great book idea is, The SNOWFLAKE: Winter’s Secret Beauty. And of course, take time to try and catch a snowflake or two on your tongue!
