SOFTBALL
Your softball Shockers played Crestdale Monday afternoon. They fought a hard battle,
but Crestdale's pitcher proved to be too strong and the Shockers lost. Our record is
now 2-4. The next game is Wednesday away against Carmel.
The Softball Shockers competed against Carmel Wednesday afternoon. It was an action filled game
with balls hit all over the field. Natalie Cregan, Madison Ratledge, MacKenzie Keane, Savannah
Stancombe, and Landon Fuller all had RBI's for the team. After 6 innings battling back, the Shockers
came up short with a score of 9-17. Please come out on Monday for a home game against Robinson.
VOLLEYBALL
The Lady Shocker Volleyball team played an exciting match last night against the Car-
mel Cougars. South Charlotte started off slow in the first game but came back to win
the second game 25-20 behind the tough serving of Rahel Griffith. Carmel started
off strong in the 3rd game but the South Charlotte's back row defense led by Amy
Gunn, Becky Porter and Melissa Boyajian fought hard to stay in the game. Ulti-
mately, the tough front row hits from Carmel proved too much and South Charlotte
lost 15-6.
FOOTBALL
SOUTH CHARLOTTE FOOTBALL SHOCKERS WIN A TIGHT ONE!
On October 22nd, the South Charlotte Shockers won a thriller over Alexander Graham
by the score of 14 – 6. The first half offense was led by the ground game of Hayden Tay-
lor, Will Portas, Zack Calcanes, and Malique Tatum and the fantastic blocking by
Bentley Spain, Femi Abioye, Tate Boyce, Daniel Hart, Matt Hampton, Tim Brady,
and Isaac Bush. Running Back Hayden Taylor scored the only touchdown in the first
half and QB Patrick Ryan connected with Will Portas for the 2-point conversion to
take a 8-0 lead at halftime. After giving up a touchdown in the 3rd quarter which sliced the lead to 8-6,
the South Charlotte defense came roaring back. Bentley Spain, Drew Leopprich, Wesley Simmons,
David Ward, Austin Leonard, Hayden Taylor, and Connor Poore made several big tackles in the 2nd
half and Patrick Ryan returned an interception 35 yards for a touchdown to seal the victory at 14-6.
There were several great plays made on special teams led by Danny Choi, Daniel Nix, Alex Katz,
Trevor McGowan, Thomas Darden, Ty Tousa, and Mohamed Kishk. The Shockers record is now 3-2
and the team looks forward to getting your support at home next Wednesday against a tough Quail
Hollow team.
