                                               Operation

- DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN TO TOUCH UNIT.
- HEAD OF UNIT IS HOT AND WILL BURN.
- COTTON CANDY IS MELTED SUGAR AND IS THEREFORE HOT TO THE
TOUCH, DO NOT STICCK HANDS IN THE STREAM OF FLOSS.

1. Press the MOTOR switch to the "ON" position.
2. Fill the spinner head with the desired amount of sugar floss.
3. Press the HEAT switch to the "ON" position.
4. Turn the HEAT CONTROL knob to heat setting #9.
5. Once floss starts to flow out of the head, reduce the HEAT CONTROL to the minimum setting that
maintains the flow of floss (too high of a setting will cause cutting of the floss and potentially clog the
head screen). Generally, lining up the line on the knob with the arrow on the “RUN” sticker should be
approximately the correct location.
6. When the amount of floss that is produced starts to slow, add more sugar. DO NOT adjust the HEAT
CONTROL knob setting.
Note : The typical operating setting on the heat control is in a range between four and six. This
will vary, however due to fluctuations in external conditions. Supply voltage inconsistencies and
environmental conditions can adversely affect the amount of heat necessary to produce floss.

                             Mesh Installation Instructions
1. Place collection tub over the spinning head onto the rubber bumpers of the machine.
2. Install the plastic mesh around the inside of the collection tub, using the (8) mesh clips
spaced equally around the collection tub diameter.
Note: There should be an air gap between the mesh and the collection rub in between the
clip locations. From the top the mesh should appear as shown.

                                                                  Mesh

                                                                 Mesh Clips

                               Making Cotton Candy
To pick up floss, once you practice, you can become an expert at rolling the web of candy onto the
cone. Pick up the cone, holding it an inch or two at the pointed end between your two fingers and
thumb. With a light flicking action, break into the web of floss that is building up in the pan.
Usually some floss will stick to the cone, if not, brush the cone over a damp sponge first. Lift up
the cone with the ring of floss attached, and, by rotating the cone, wind the floss onto it. Do not roll
floss on the cone inside the floss pan, roll it on outside of the pan only.
When you have practiced a bit, you might rather prefer to lift the ring of floss out of the pan with a
flick of the wrist, turn the ring into a figure 8 and whip it around onto the cone. This leaves air
pockets making it appear that you are building a bigger web.

                                      Shutting Down
1. Turn the HEAT CONTROL knob to the off setting. This will be past the nine setting and a click
   will be noticed.
2. Press HEAT switch to the "OFF" position.
3. Wait a couple of minutes for the spinner head to cool down.
4. Press the MOTOR switch to the "OFF" position.
Warning: In Case of a Malfunction immediately shut-off the MOTOR and HEAT switches
   and correct the problem.

                                        Troubleshooting
1. Bad vibration.
        • Check to make sure there are no sugar lumps in the spinning head.
2. Motor does not operate, but heater is operating.
        • Motor protection has tripped off. Wait one minute and re-start.
3. Floss is being termed with clumps of sugar or floss is forming, but being cut.
        • HEAT CONTROL is set at too high a number. Lower number and continue.

                                Basic Cleaning after Use
Basic cleaning is all that is required after use. Ups and Downs will perform the advanced cleaning after we pick up
                                                      the machine.
1. The Cotton Candy spinning head should be allowed to run (with the HEAT and MOTOR
switches on) until most of the sugar is dispensed out of the head unit on the last run of the cotton
candy machine.
Note : Some sugar will remain in the head. This is typical and will not affect anything.

                                     Advanced Cleaning
Only perform these cleaning instructions if you are experiencing a clogged head unit. Failure to properly follow the
instructions below can result in damage to the unit. Please refer to Cotton Candy Head Assembly Diagram on the
                                                  following pages.
1. Be sure the MOTOR and HEAT switches are in the "OFF" position (cord should also be
   unplugged from the outlet).
2. Allow the Spinning head unit and heater elements to cool down to a temperature that is safe to
   the touch.
3. Remove the four knurled retaining nuts on the top of the spinning head unit.
4. Remove the top from the spinning head unit by lifting it off.
5. Remove the outer ring/screen assembly by sliding it up and off the heater element.
6. The top and ring/screen assembly can be cleaned by immersing in hot water and mild detergent.
7. The heater element and head apron are now accessible for removing the sugar residue by manual
   cleaning.
8. Re-assemble by installing the outer ring/screen and top. Secure with the four knurled retaining
    nuts.
