range sold at retail, on-line services and our own magazine.
Our UK headquarters are based centrally in Maidenhead, Berkshire, conveniently near
to the train station for direct links to London, and very close to the M4, M40 and the M3.
We also have an extensive Operations team, who are field based.

talented RETAIL LICENSING MANAGER to join our team.

The Weight Watchers Licensing team is responsible for managing the FMCG
range – the range of Weight Watchers products manufactured under the Weight
Watchers brand under license. The total brand value of the Weight Watchers
Licensed Range is a massive £170m at rsp and growing rapidly at +14.7% year
on year. Along with its sister brand, Weight Watchers from Heinz, Weight
Watchers is now the 14th largest grocery brand in the UK.
The range is present in over 30 food categories across chilled and ambient
products, the main distribution channel being via the major supermarket retailers.
The range has also made a small entry into non-food with a highly successful
bathroom-scales range, with opportunities existing to expand into other non-food
areas of the business.
The Licensing team is responsible for managing the licensee relationships,
working very closely with over 25 licensees, including major players such as
Warburtons, Yoplait AND Greencore for example, who manufacture specific
products in the range and who have Sales & Distribution responsibility for their
own products.

Role Ambition:

Reporting in the Head of Licensing, we are looking for a bright and dynamic individual to
fill the new position of Retail Licensing Manager working in our Licensing Team to
manage our licensing relationships with our brand licensees. The principal focus for the
role is to drive revenue growth from our licensed range with key responsibility to build
and manage the relationship with some our licensees. Weight Watchers have significant
growth ambitions to extend from their current position of a top 20 FMCG grocery brand.

In addition, the Retail Licensing Manager will be responsible for getting the best out of
our new outsourced category management agency to supply central category
information to all of our licensees.

Key Responsibilities:

   •   Responsible for a range of licensees/categories within Licensing
   •   Build outstanding relationships with key individual licensees with direct
       responsibility for approximately 12 out of our 25 UK and Ireland licensees
   •   Full ownership and accountability to drive licensing revenue from these
   •   Agree annual business plans with licensees by category to include plans for retail
       distribution, sales growth, NPD and brand support
   •   Measurement of KPIs within the business plan and feedback to licensees via
       quarterly business review meetings
   •   Monthly revenue analysis and forecasting in conjunction with the licensees
   •   Maintain license agreements & contract negotiations working alongside internal
       legal counsel
   •   Understand licensee’s business dynamics, adapting to meet needs without
       compromising Weight Watchers strategy and brand values
   •   Management and development of 3rd party category management agency
       (Bridgethorne) including setting the plan and managing implementation in a
       timely and efficient manner
   •   Manage all centrally bought category & shopper data currently all TNS
   •   Provide regular communication to licensees on category & brand knowledge and
       regular central brand performance updates
   •   Provide licensees with structured selling stories for all brand initiatives
   •   Provide infrequent ad-hoc support for licensees at their buyer/category review
       meetings as required to represent Weight Watchers
   •   Some travel required throughout the UK and occasional Europe to visit the
       licensees for review meetings

The successful candidate will be a graduate with significant experience of working in an
FMCG role, with strong commercial awareness and a track record of making things
happen. The role requires category management experience and familiarity with
continuous market and consumer panel data. The role also requires a good knowledge
of the food industry including a working knowledge of the major grocery retailers.

It is important that this individual has a track record of building winning commercial
relationships. Strong influencing skills are essential to inspire our licensees all the way
up to a senior level. Demonstration of negotiating skills would be desirable for the
contract negotiation part of the role. Communicates honestly and constructively with
good intent.
