TREASURER REPORT: We have $2,014.19 in our checking account. $11,532.98 remains in our Tower Account after paying some huge bills. NET REPORT: The net is going well, but it is the desire of PVR for more members to check in and to remain to chat awhile. Joe Harrell has volunteered to be the December Net Control. BLOG/WEBSITE REPORT: Mary was absent so no blog report was made. Dick has been authorized to buy a website so that our webpage can get out on the Internet. Dick will look into it. OLD BUSINERSS – ARES/RACES: 1. The repeater relocation project is truly underway. The new WRCO tower has been erected, and the antennas are being installed. During the past week, the WX has really been bad, and with wind conditions as they were, the crew decided to pack up and go home. They will return next week. 2. NIMS 200 is required if you wish to remain active with ARES/RACES. This should be completed by the end of the year. 3. Walt has changed the batteries in our anemometers. He has also put them in Tupperware containers for safe moving. The anemometers have been numbered for future checkout purposes. 4. PVR had 5 anemometers. We now have only 3. 2 anemometers are missing, and it is our request that if any of our members have them to please return them so that our inventory will be complete. Please do this ASAP because we will be taking an inventory of all PVR equipment, marking the gear, and making an official chart. Thanks. NEW BUSINESS – ARES/RACES: 1. The La Crosse Weather Service will have a live radio show on Sunday, November 18 from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. This should be very interesting. If you do not have a weather radio you can go to the La Crosse website to get more information. www.crh.noaa.gov/arx/ OLB BUSINESS – PVR: 1. A discussion as to whether PVR should host a Christmas (Holiday) Party or to sponsor a Triviathon Team for the WRCO Triviathon held on New Year’s Eve. It was decided that a Christmas (Holiday) Party would attract more members rather than a Triviathon Team. Josh motioned that we have a party sometime in early January. Joe 2nd the motion. Motion carried. There will be more on this later. 2. Jackets and Go-Bags. Laura is handling this project. If you are interested in purchasing a Club jacket and/or Go-Bag (our logo will be on either, but you will have to pay to have your name/call sign embroidered on either). Please contact Laura if you are interested as she will give you more information. Do this ASAP. NEW BUSINESS – PVR: 1. Bob was going to conduct an all-day Tech level training class on the 24th, but of the 12 people on his calling list, only 1 responded in the affirmative. If you know of anyone interested in becoming an Amateur Radio operator, please have that individual contact Bob. Some members of PVR are becoming VE qualified, but we need more Extra Class license holders, and for these people to become VE qualified so that we can conduct EC exams. At the present time, we can only conduct Tech and General exams. 2. We need an equipment manager to inventory, mark, and log all of our equipment. Joe volunteered to take on this project, and Dick said he would help. We have acquired quite a list of equipment, and it should all be listed. 3. Walk With GRACE team. Dick said that his “penny mug” is about ¼ full of pennies (some nickels/dimes), and when August rolls around for the ’08 event, the money in the mug will be given to our Walk Team. If everybody would start a “penny mug”, the money would help the team total. We would like to break the $4,000 mark. We came very close in ’07. 4. Yes, we are still collecting aluminum cans. Please continue in your efforts to help the Club earn money. We still have equipment to purchase, maintain, and add to our inventory. Your efforts will assure us of having sufficient money to do this. 5. DUES ARE DUE. As there will be no December meeting, these will be the last minutes for 2007. Please get your dues paid so that you will remain on the Active list. Due are due before January 1, 2008. Dues are still $15.00/year. Make your check payable to PINE VALLEY REPEATER. Send it to me at: 591 E. Fourth St. Richland Center, WI 53581. Thanks. DECEMBER MEETING: As mentioned, there will be no December meeting as the date is quite close to Christmas. Laura motioned to not have a December meeting. 2nd by Chris. Motion carried. NEW YEAR’S EVE NET: An impromptu net was held on New Year’s Eve last year, and several members participated. It was a lot of fun, and if you are interested, please check in. WIN, ECHOLINK, HF, PSK31 CONTACTS: 1. Chris said that he has made several contacts on the WIN network.
