           Summary-

                             Clinton Trounces Rice
In front of a sellout crowd at Madison Square Garden, the DeWitt Clinton
Governors defeated Rice, 91-80 in a battle of two undefeated teams.
After a stirring rendition of the National Anthem sung by Otis Redding,
the Raiders jumped to a 2-0 lead. Clinton then scored nine-points in :37
seconds to take a seven-point lead with less than a minute expired.
Governor forward Mike Switzer picked up two early fouls and had to sit,
but teammates Nate Archibald and Walt Robertson helped Clinton to
a 26-point first quarter.
Rice forged ahead at 33-32 in the second quarter only to see Clinton
rattle off ten straight to regain control.
The second half saw the Raiders get to within three or four points, but
they could never get closer.
Despite having 6' 10 Bob Lienhard at the defensive end, Rice had no
answer for the 6' 4 Switzer. He consistently posted up or filled the lane on
fast breaks, taking feeds from Archibald and Robertson who combined
for 19-assists with many of the passes bringing the fans out of their seats.
Switzer finished with 29-points and 15-rebounds as he helped the
Governors open up a 76-61, fourth quarter advantage on their way to
the 11-point win.

Keys to the Game: Chenango Forks won the state Class B title and beat 10-of-13
opponents by 35-points or more. To say they like to run the ball is
an understatement. The Blue Devils rushed for 4107-yards and averaged
7.8 yards per carry. C.B.A will have to stop them, because Forks doesn't
beat themselves, losing only five-fumbles all season.

key plays in Christian Brother Academy's 17-7 victory over Chenango Forks last night
                    from the Carrierdome.
CBA opened the contest by marching form their own 35 to the CF one, but on
fourth-and-goal from there, the Blue Devils' Alex Williams shot through and dropped
Brother RB Brian Bojko for a yard loss and a turnover on downs.
CBA's next series saw them register a touchdown on a four-play, 44-yard drive ending
with a 14-yard touchdown run by Bojko.
An Erik Estabrook 19-yard field goal pushed the Brothers' lead to 10-0 with 5:33
                    left in the first half.
CF had a drive stall just before halftime and Tim Batty's 30-yard field goal attempt
was blocked by CBA's Dario Arezzo to keep the margin at ten.
                      A Greg Paulus-to-Bruce Williams seven-yard touchdown made it 17-0 CBA, 3:11
                    into the third.
The Blue Devils put together a long, time consuming march and scored on a two-yard
run by Jason Chier to make it 17-7 with :09 seconds remaining in the third. The march
took 20-plays, covered 87-yards, and exhausted 8:40 of game time.
CBA fumbled the ball away at the CF 15 on the next series, but the Blue Devils
couldn't move and were forced to punt.
The Brothers fumbled again and CF had a first down at their own 38 with 7:11
to go in the contest and still trailing 17-7.
A 38-yard pass from Batty-to-Chier moved the ball to the CBA 24. Chier was
interfered with on the play, but still made the reception for the big gain.
CF maneuvered to the 14, but a fourth down pass to Zach Vredenburgh was
incomplete, giving the ball to CBA with 3:23 on the clock.
The Blue Devils final possession saw CBA's Bruce Williams come up with the
game-clinching interception to give the Brothers the 17-7 victory.
