Dear Artistic Staff & Colleagues in the Performing Arts Industry:

You are cordially invited to participate as an Auditor at greater Atlanta’s tenth annual Unified Auditions on
Monday, March 30 and Tuesday, March 31 at the 14th Street Playhouse in Midtown, Atlanta.

This service of the Atlanta Coalition of Performing Arts offers you the opportunity to see both union and non-
union talent from throughout the region.

The Designer Showcase will be held on Monday, during the Designer Showcase break. This annual event is your
opportunity to view the work of and meet both emerging and working designer talent (scenic, lighting, costume,
props and sound). For the first time, stage managers will be apart of this event.

There are no fees for ACPA Member companies to audit. Nonmember companies from outside the ACPA core
service region may attend by invitation only. The link to the Unifieds Auditor Registration can be found online at
www.AtlantaPerforms.BIZ, Unifieds-Auditing Companies. Please complete one registration form per
organization. The deadline for registration is, Friday, February 27, 2009. Late registrations will be accepted on a
first come, first serve basis, and companies registering late are not guaranteed participation.

Snacks and beverages are provided in the mornings and during breaks. Note: the option to pre-order lunch this year
will not be available. A variety of food options are available at Colony Square, located on the corner of 14th Street
and Peachtree Street (within walking distance from the Playhouse).

The Unified Auditions will be hosted by the 14th Street Playhouse, located in Midtown Atlanta, 173 14th Street
NE. On the Auditor Information Sheet below, you will find details regarding this year’s auditions, including
information on hotel accommodations, a map, directions, parking, and MARTA rapid transit.

                                             Support for the Atlanta Coalition of Performing Arts is provided in part by the City of

Audition Schedule                                                                     
Auditions begin promptly at 10:00am on both days. Equity actors will be seen on Monday, March 30 in the morning and midday,
immediately followed by top-ranking non-Equity actors to complete the Monday auditions. Auditions continue on Tuesday, April 1 with
non-equity actors. The Designer Showcase will be held during the lunch break on Monday. Please Note: Auditions are only open to Equity
and non-Equity performers, 18 years and older. Attending companies are responsible for scheduling private call backs.
Audition Content
Actors will be given of 2.5 minutes for Equity, and 2 minutes for Non-Equity to complete contrasting monologues and optional 16 bars of
a song. No a Capella or self-accompaniment will be allowed. An accompanist will be provided.
Rules to Note
 • Your company may have no more than 2 representatives in the audition room at any given time. You may rotate your audition
   room staff as needed. Simply register each name and day they will attend on your application form.
 • You are encouraged to invite additional staff to attend the Designer Showcase.
 • Each company will receive ONE set of pictures and resumes.
 • We will not provide resumes and photos to auditors who are not physically present.
Other Notes
 • The Unified Auditions are wheelchair accessible. Designated areas in front of the stage will be reserved for auditors using a
 • Dress comfortably and in layers. Everyone’s idea of a perfect temperature varies.
 • ACPA will provide beverages (coffee, juice, sodas, water) and snacks (bagels, veggies, fruit, etc.) for morning and afternoon
   breaks on both days. Lunch will not be provided by ACPA.
 • Upon request, we provide performers with a list of auditors present during their audition time. Auditor phone numbers and email
        addresses are not provided. This list includes only company name, mailing address and website.
 • Again this year, the auditors’ list of actors will include the actors’ response to availability for tours and/or out-of-state work.
Actor Screening Process
Applicants for the auditions are screened by a panel of artistic & casting directors and actors using criteria established by ACPA’s Unified
Auditions Committee. We strive for quality, diversity and inclusiveness in the screening process. This reflects our commitment to both
meet the needs of auditors, and to provide access to a professionally run annual audition for Southeastern union and non-union talent.
Designer Screening Process
Applicants for the Designer Showcase are screened by a panel of artistic directors and technical personnel using criteria established by the
Unified Auditions Committee. Applications are accepted from both union and non-union Scenic, Costume, Lighting, Prop, Sound
designers and Stage Managers.
Atlanta Coalition of Performing Arts produces the Unified Auditions as a benefit
to its member companies and invited guest companies. Although there is no fee
for company members and invited guests to participate, auditors are responsible
for their own expenses associated with travel, hotel and meals.
