Doodle 4 Google Logo Design Contest
Cranbury School has registered to compete in the 2009 Doodle 4 Google competition. The competition asks school age students from Kindergarten to 12th grade to create a new Google logo illustrating the theme: "What I Wish for the World." Students are encouraged to view Doodle 4 Google as a time to think big and dream even bigger. The student who submits the winning Google doodle will get some awesome prizes, including a $15,000 scholarship and $25,000 to be donated to their school’s technology department. They will also have their drawing placed on Google's homepage this May 21st. Other prizes include t-shirts, trips, laptops and certificates. Information about the Doodle 4 Google 2009 competition is included on their website, as well as consent and entry forms. http://www.google.com/doodle4google/index.html. (These forms can also be found on the PTO website.) Under Doodle history you can see a list of 10 things the judges of the competition will be looking for as well as samples of Google Doodles. This page also provides ideas for this year’s theme such as using plants to generate electricity or making college free for everyone. Mind you, these are just ideas! Doodle artwork for the Doodle 4 Google competition must be submitted to Mrs. McGarvey by March 20 along with: * A title for the doodle * A supporting statement explaining how the doodle relates to the "What I Wish for the World" theme * Completed entry and consent form (except the school id#) Six winners from Cranbury School (2 each from grades K-3, 4-6 and 7-8) will be chosen to submit to Google.
