CHAMPION POWERLIFTING 2009 First of all, thank you for choosing to be a part of such a great sport. You will learn a lot about the sport of powerlifting and you will have a great experience competing against yourself and others. EXPECTATIONS: I expect everyone involved to do their best and to be in the weight room getting stronger and technically sound. Have pride in what we do and go to the banquet at the end of the year. Show how much our program is growing. Know the rules for each lift. Know the judge commands for each lift. Practice each repetition on each lift as if you were competing. Leave no doubt that you were low enough on your squat, don’t move your feet on the bench press, and have a smooth pull on the dead lift (NO HITCHING!!). Be involved by helping each other wrap knees and rolling up knee wraps. If you don’t know how to wrap-ASK!! I will teach you. Please keep up with wraps. Take care of the equipment, squat suit, and bench shirt that is issued. This equipment is designed to help you be more successful in lifting. Last but not least, be a good representative of our powerlifting program and Champion High School when we are at the meets. If the inviting school ask us to help clean up-DO IT! No questions asked. SCHEDULE: Jan. 24 Southside Freshman Academy Gymnasium Feb. 7 Somerset High School Feb. 14 UTSA (one boy and one girl team only) Feb. 21 Medina Valley High School (one boy and one girl team only) (The possibility of having a meet on Jan. 31 is possible if I find one.) Some of you will go to all the meets and some will go to at least 2. Reason being is that some meets only allow one 11 man team to participate. Directions to the meets will be handed out before each meet. WEBSITE: www.thspa.org for boys www.thswpa.com for girls These websites are great to read over the rules for powerlifting.
