Welcome to to the 2nd, Tournament of Champions Wrestling Tournament, held in
conjunction with the Guelph Open, one of Canada’s oldest and toughest senior

The Tournament of Champions brings together Ontario’s top under 21 wrestlers and
will serve as a preview for upcoming Ontario Championships and O.F.S.A.A.

This event is also part of the Ontario Development Program and will serve as a talent
identification event.

Please make note of qualifying criteria, pre-registration and weigh-in details. Hope to

VENUE                    University of Guelph Athletic Centre
                         Guelph, Ontario.

ELIGIBILITY      All participants must be members of the Ontario Amateur Wrestling Association.
                 Out of province participants must be registered with their provincial wrestling association.

                 Junior Age and Under ( Male and Female Divisions ).

                 *** To qualify, athletes must have won a medal at an open or invitational high school
                  tournament this season or placed top 6 in last years OFSAA, Provincial or National

                 Note – all Junior aged wrestlers no longer in high school but training with clubs or universities are

                         *** Athletes not meeting these criteria may still be considered for the
                             competition based on a coaches reccomendation.

PRE - REGISTRATION Eight per weight class accepted based on criteria up to January 15. After that
                   date, the first eight will be accepted. Please e-mail your final pre-entry list with
                   weight classes by Wednesday, January 20.

ENTRY FEE                $ 15. 00 per wrestler includes admission to to the Guelph Open Senior
                         Tournament on Saturday. Cheques payable to Guelph Wresling Club.
WEIGH – IN       There are two options for weigh-ins:

                 1. At the University of Guelph Athletics Centre ( wrestling room ) from 4-5 pm,
                 Saturday, January 24. Wrestlers must weigh-in at the weight they pre-registered
                 for. Wrestlers failing to make weight will only be allowed to move up a weight if
                 a space is available.

                 2. By e-mail on Friday, January 22 prior to 7 pm.
                 Weights must be verified Sunday morning from 8-8:30 am ( additional 0.5 kg allowance ).

WEIGHT CLASSES   Men   : 46, 50, 55, 60, 66, 74, 84, 96, 120 ( 2 kg allowance )
                 Women : 44, 48, 51, 55, 59, 63, 67, 72 ( 2 kg allowance)

                 Guarantee of 2 matches and 3 for full weight classes.

AWARDS           Top 3 finishers in each weight plus a team trophy for the top boys and
                 Girls teams. Outstanding male and female wrestler awards.

WRESTLING        On 4 mat surfaces.
                 Teams should arrive by 8:15 am.
                 Wrestling begins at 9:00 am and will end by 4pm.
                 Wrestlers guaranteed 2 matches, 3 in full weight classes.
