Interleague Softball Rules for 2009 Season
(West Portage and South Portage Little Leagues) Subject to final approval by both leagues
Official Little League playing rules will be used for all games with the following additions and exceptions:
Curfew – No new inning will start after 8:00 PM until June 10. Beginning June 11, there will be no curfew. Continuous Batting Order – A continuous or open batting order will be in effect. Free substitution of defensive players, except for the pitching position will also be in effect. Adult Base Coaches – Two adult base coaches are permitted provided there is an adult coach in the dugout at all times. Rainouts – Rain out games will not be rescheduled unless a team will not meet the 12 game minimum requirements. Managers will contact the home field division director to reschedule. Protests – The game umpire and the host team director / umpire on duty will resolve all protests and then finish the game. Borrowed / Substitute Players – Number of borrowed / substitute players for games is limited to three players max per game. Home Team to provide the following: Home plate umpire One new softball Scorekeeper and scoreboard operator, when applicable. Visiting team to provide the following: One good used softball One base umpire Scorekeeper. Both teams will use their scorekeeper’s sheet for player eligibility purposes. Mandatory Mercy Rule 10 runs after 4 innings. Runs per Inning Five runs per inning except for unlimited last inning.
