							               Faith Lutheran Church 50th Anniversary Celebration
How would you as a member of the congregation like to celebrate this Event?

The committee would like to put forward the following for your consideration. Please check off those
ideas that you would like to see used in the planning of the 50th Anniversary Celebration.

 Would you like to have:-

   1. [_]One special weekend in which to celebrate the event?
   2. [_]Events throughout the month preceding the anniversary day to commemorate the event?
   3. [_]Several events throughout the anniversary year?

Would you like the celebration to consist of any of the following events?

   1. [_]Have the Bishop come to preach on the anniversary Sunday.
   2. [_]Have ordained sons/daughters also attend and preside at the anniversary service.
   3. [_]Invite past pastors to come and preach throughout the anniversary year.

Would you like to see any of the following projects or activities undertaken to celebrate the anniversary?

   1. [_]Purchase of a gift for the church (e.g. new communion ware etc.) to mark the anniversary.
             If you chose #1. would you like to suggest a suitable gift?_____________________________
   2. [_]Publish a photo directory for the congregation.
   3. [_]Publish a history of the first 50 years of the congregation.
   4. [_]Have a banquet and a talent night with presentations of music etc. by congregation members.
   5. [_]Plant a tree on the anniversary Sunday to commemorate the event.
   6. [_]Invite members to bring in pictures to create a montage of events over the past 50 years.
   7. [_]Construct an anniversary banner to hang in the church.
   8. [_]Have a special anniversary anthem written by one of our musically talented members for the
       anniversary year.
   9. [_]Construct a portrait wall with pictures of all former pastors to honour them and recognize them
       for the years that they served Faith Lutheran Church.
   10. [_]Invite former members to return for the anniversary celebration.
   11. [_]Have the Sunday school children assemble a time capsule.
   12. [_]Visit founding members and tape record their stories of the founding of the church to preserve
       their memories for a church history.
   13. [_]Have senior members provide photos of their confirmation to see if others can put a name to the
       person in the photo.

Please keep in mind that we will require people to plan these events and also given that we are in the
process of fundraising for a new church it would be best if any events planned in connection with the 50th
anniversary be self funding.
