 Thursday, May 7th, 2009 the Ohio Commission on Dispute Resolution & Conflict Management will host a daylong symposium on cyber bullying and bullying prevention in schools. The event will take place in Columbus in the Riffe Center and will bring together a wide variety of professionals committed to school safety. The morning program will include a keynote address by Patricia Agatston, co-author of Cyber Bullying: Bullying in the Digital Age and the afternoon program will include workshops by state and national experts on bullying prevention.

Commission
is

providing
a
pre‐symposium
opportunity
May
 6th,
to
build
skills
in
addressing
school
based
bullying
both
from
the
in‐person
and
 the
virtual
perspectives.
Half
of
the
day
will
be
spent
building
skills
with
direct
 interventions
into
bullying
behavior,
and
the
other
half

will
be
spent
obtaining
i‐ Safe
certification
and
exploring
digital
citizenship.

The
i‐Safe
certification
enables
 individuals
to
access
and
use
the
i‐Safe
curriculum
and
materials.

These
includes
 assessments,
parent
information,
video
messages/webcasts
and
other
resources
to
 address
cyberbullying
and
Internet
literacy/safety.
