This advisory applies to HP customers who use HP 9000 servers or workstations that contain greater than 8 gigabytes (GB) of system memory, and who have installed the following patch: PHKL_29890: s700_800 11.11 vPar enablement, DLKM load panic That was delivered on the following June 2004 HP-UX 11i v1 (11.11) CD media: Support Plus - Quality Pack (QPK) patch bundle - part # 5013-2132 Hewlett-Packard is advising HP customers with HP 9000 servers or workstations, which contain greater than 8 GB's of system memory, that a memory leak may occur if HP-UX 11.11 patch PHKL_29890 is installed. A system memory leak could eventually lead to application or system hangs and would appear as increased memory paging as system memory disappears. Note: HP 9000 servers or workstations that were factory installed with the June 2004 Support Plus media would contain the patch noted above. HP's Recommendation HP recommends that customers ensure the following patch is installed on HP 9000 systems that have greater than 8 GB's of memory to avoid a potential memory leak: PHKL_24554: s700_800 11.11 vPar enablement, spinlock patch Note: This patch is not included in the June 2004 Support Plus Quality Pack patch bundle but it may have been factory installed on some HP 9000 servers and workstations. Patches can be obtained from the ITRC via the web or by contacting your local HP Customer Support Representative or Sales Office. Patches can be downloaded from the following locations: 1.
