   9. Unplug the two connectors
   10. Remove the four screws

Oils from your skin can affect print quality.
   4. Insert the right end of the transfer roller first, securing the metal tip into its black retaining clip

MP Tray Pickup Roller

that supports the toner door. Pinch the head of the lever and push it through the hole.
   2. Remove the four screws holding the top cover in place.
   3. Use a flat blade screwdriver to release the latch on the left side of the toner door. Then life the
top cover straight up and away from the printer
   4. Now remove the left cover, life the cover simultaneously up and outward
   5. Unhook the two springs supporting Tray 1 from the black printer frame. Then pry the pivot
       arms loose from Tray 1
   6. Slide the bottom of Tray 1 to the left to remove it.
   7. Then rotate the pivot arms upwards and remove the top of Tray 1
   8. Press and hold the release tab on the outer edge of the left idler roller and begin sliding the
idler roller away to the left. If the idler rollers catches on the separation pad beneath it, hold
the separation pad down with one hand and slide the idler roller with the other hand.

force as you pinch the release tab upwards, and then slide the roller to the right.

   12. Lift the pickup roller off its metal shaft
   13. Before you install the new pickup roller, the separation pad much be removed and replaced.

MP Tray Separation Pad

  1. Before you install the new pickup roller, the separation pad which sits underneath it must be

separation pad onto the base; be sure to line up the bump on the bottom of the new separation
pad with the spring on the black base. Squeeze the pad’s arms and lock the arms onto the
      base.
   3. Reinstall the entire separation pad assembly and screw it down in place.
   4. Now you can replace the pickup roller. Slide the roller to the left towards its white coupling.
Rotate the roller slightly as you slide the roller to the left; keep rotating it and sliding it left until it
clicks in place with the coupling.

the lever on the right side of the pickup roller. Rotate the lever outward and then slide the lever
towards the right side of printer. Sliding this lever releases the pickup roller shaft.
   4. Lift the pickup roller out of the printer
   5. Remove the two white rollers for the old pickup roller and place the two white rollers on the
ends of the new pickup roller.
   6. Replace the pickup roller in its carriage and insert left end first, then lower the right end down
   7. Slide the slotted end of the pickup roller through the white lever. Rotate the roller as you slide it
to the right so that the gray drive shaft connects to the slotted end of the pickup roller. The
lever on the left side will not fit properly unless the gray drive shaft is properly connected to the
      white pickup roller.
   8. Replace the left lever, and then rotate both levers downwards until they lock in place.

Tray 2 Separation Pad

  3. Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry the tabs loose
  4. Flip Tray 2 back over to its top side, and gently pry the front tabs of the separation pad loose.
  5. Gently pull the pad up and away. If it doesn’t slide upwards easily, check each of the four tabs
again to make sure they are free
  6. Reuse this spring on the new separation pad. Place it securely on the bump of the new
     separation pad.
  7. Line up the spring on the separation pad with the spring pedestal and line up the plastic tabs on
the pad with the metal plate. Slide the tabs down over the metal plate. The restarting tabs will
click and hold the separation pad in place.
