							The Hot Zone Essay
     Pick two of the following categories as themes to use as you
     compose a thorough essay about topics in The Hot Zone. Base your
     selections on the Quiz questions you answered for the 3 quizzes. You
     may notice a pattern in the topics you tended to answer in the
     essay questions. Use those answers as an outline to begin
     organizing your essay. (Extra credit if you go beyond the 2 required
     categories.)

     You will write about how The Hot Zone story deals with the 2 topics
     you have selected.
     Use specific examples and references in the text of the book to
     support your answers.
     Use page numbers in parentheses to reference the material you
     refer to.
     PART 4: INCLUDE A PARAGRAPH THAT REFERS TO THE COMPLEXITY OF
     HOW DISEASE CAN EFFECT ALL ASPECTS OF HUMAN COMMUNITY.
     INCLUDE ANSWERS TO THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS.
        1. Why is the Kinshasa Highway referred to as the AIDS
            Highway?
        2. How did development of the trans-Africa highway lead to
            the spread of the disease(s)?

     Explain specifically how your ideas connect to the P.E.R.S.I.A.N.
     topics. (Explanations of each topic are on the PERSIAN note taking
     guide.)
     Attach all your PERSIAN notes & your quizzes to the essay!
     Use final draft format (Times 12-pt font, double-spaced) & print out
     on your time…have it ready to turn in on DUE DATE.
