On Thursday, August 20th our District Governor, John Bosco spoke to our club. He provided a

solid review of RI and District news. His main message was that the district is here to help us
be great Rotarians and to have a great club! Our district, covering 7counties includes: 57 clubs
from Lodi to Conneaut and 2300 Rotarians! Upcoming district Governors are Stu Buchannan

and Steve Zabor. RI and our District is also on Facebook and YouTube! We had 22 people in

-Be on the lookout for 3 Highway Clean-ups to be scheduled now thru the end of October!
-The District Conference will be the weekend of April 23, 2010 at Kalahari in Sandusky
-RI Convention scheduled for June 2010 in Montreal
           New website will be up and running in about ten days!
          This will be a fabulous and positive change for our club!

August 27th Meeting- Society for Handicapped Citizens                                           Leadership
On August 27th, Melanie Kasten-Krause and Michael Conley spoke to our club about the             Kelly Williams
Society for Handicapped Citizens (SHC). The SHC has been providing services to individuals         President
with disabilities and their families since 1953 and it has become the Arc of Medina County.
SHC services include: Residential housing, family support, a resource center and Camp            Kevin Wermer
Paradise. SHC is looking to the community for support in maintaining and improving Camp            President-elect
Paradise and its services. Look for a press release in the near future in the Medina Gazette     Kevin Dunn
advertising fundraisers for this cause. SHC is planning on organizing a Clambake and a Texas       Program Chair
Hold-em Tournament!
