The winning life
On your journey to winning in life, there will be several opportunities to give up. Circumstances
may tell you it is impossible for you to move ahead or make it. However, you must disregard
this temptation. That’s why you need to muster strategies that will get you ahead.
DESPISE THE OPPOSITION:
You must understand that every opposition that comes your way actually comes to test your
actual position. The name “opposition” it is anything that is opposing your position. If your life
is full of oppositions, it is an indication that your strong position is being challenged, so you
must be determined to break through and overcome. Everything in life has to do with attempts.
Thomas Edison, the man who invented the electric bulb, must have lost enough when his
laboratory, a great place he labored over period of years to build was engulfed in devastating
fire. Nonetheless, rather than lamenting over the depressing incidence, he excitedly called to
his son saying, “Go tell your mother to come out and see the fire because you may never see
another fire like this in your life again.” He, the wife and son stood to watch the gigantic lab
burn down to ashes. The man of unequaled confidence knew that was no his end. He saw
beyond the present, a more sophisticated lab was rebuilt and work continued. Today, the
electric bulb in household use worldwide is the product of Edison’s persistent effort. So sotp
bemoaning your failure, it’s an event that won’t last long.
DO THE RIGHT THING:
It is common to hear people say, “I have tried my best”, but they fail to understand that doing
your best is not the same thing as doing the right thing to succeed. You can’t do what is right
and still remain a failure. When you do what is right long enough, your position will change.
Hard work alone will not take you to your place in life. You must also work with intelligence.
Intelligence boasts hard work; it is a combination of the two that generates excellence.
CONTINUITY:
One of the rules of winning in life is continuity; one of the greatest disappointments in life is to
start a thing and not finish it. Whatever you want to achieve in life will take time. You need
patience to continue until your breakthrough comes. So if you have started what is right and
you are convinced in your heart about it, don’t abandon it or fold your hands, continue with it.
Sooner or later what looked like a mirage will become a reality.
One time America President Abraham Lincoln failed on several occasions regarding his political
dream, lost his business, lost his wife, lost several elections to various political offices yet, he
never gave up. He eventually made it at the presidential level all because Lincoln refused to
accept defeat. Learn to view your situations as being far smaller than you. When you have this
understanding, it will generate in you an unusual strength to persistently face challenges till
your efface them.
Above all; be flexible in your approach to get what you want, only be stuck on what you want.
Where you focus is where you eventually hit.
