Term and Concept Sheets Points on the Quiz Depending on which is given| btwn who or what the other is 1pt. ½ pt. People, Places, Events, Movements, Documents IDs Who: (people only)—group, person, who was impacted (only if the name is already in the ID) What: occupation of person, document, event (this is what happened not why significant), or movement itself When: date when it occurred Beginning to Greece within 500 years I give lots of leeway in the beginning, but as we get closer to the present Greece to Middle Ages within 50 years I become stricter on being accurate with the dates. (It also becomes easier.) After Middle Ages within 5 years Where: Where it happened, where lived, simply giving a continent or a region may not be specific enough EX: Ramses II—Egypt Leonardo daVinci—Florence, Italy Why (do I care?): What is the significance (Why is this important?) EX: Ramses II—had 99 children, built monuments to himself all over Egypt, conquered Nubia (N. Sudan), expanded the Egyptian Kingdom to its greatest height and forged the first known treaty with the Hittites. ***All of this info. is correct, but to receive full credit, you must have put one of the bolded pieces of info. If you have any of the other less significant info., you will receive half credit. Rules: Format: 1. Must be handwritten—no typing 2. Term must be numbered and highlighted and/or underlined 3. You may put the terms on note cards, number them and turn them in either rubber banded, with a ring, or in a Ziploc bag. 4. concepts need not be answered in complete sentences Other: 1. Except for Chapters 1&2, term and concept sheets will be due at least 2 days prior to the reading quiz. 2. Term and Concept sheets are considered a stamp grade as the real test will be the quiz. 3. To determine whether it’s a vocab. word or and ID the general rule of thumb is—if it’s not in the glossary in the back of the book, then it’s and ID. 4. I will only hold you responsible for what is in your book regarding information and dates. You need not refer to the internet or lecture notes. (For only Chapter 1&2 may you use the internet, but not Wikipedia.) The Reading Quiz: 1. 20 questions all worth 5 pts. each 2. Fill in the blank with no word bank for #1-15. 3. Last 5 are IDs that are to be done just like what you did on the T/C sheet. 4. The quiz is a daily grade. ½ pt. 3 pts. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE COME SEE ME IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS!!!!
