Of these, women and girls comprised close to one-third (32 per cent) of victims, overall (ie., 84 females and 182 males). In close to three quarters of these cases (62), the victims were women. Nova Scotia’s average spousal homicide rate during this period was 0.9 per 100,000 spouses for women and 0.3 per 100,000 spouses for men.
